Pretty awesome. I think Lupe understands to a great extent the effect of media propaganda, and the state's assumption of responsibility for our children, on the black community and society in general. It has broken down the family structure and has taken away the burden of responsibility from parents who are all too happy to hand it off to someone else, be that the television or anything else. That was my main takeaway...

Also, the third video characters all represent something different. I agree that it's very interesting that he included "the conservative" on the left side of the table, especially when you consider this line in the second song:

"It’s called being fiscally responsible
Don’t let these lying images up in hip-hop here conquer you
The TV’s not your father fool, that video’s not your momma
Try your best to be a man and your worst to be a monster"

I think by "conservative", Lupe means in the personal sense, and not necessarily in the American political sense. He's definitely been vocally opposed to the wars and the surveillance state...

I think his views have evolved a lot since 2007 - but I'm not expecting him to become an explicit libertarian. He's doing a lot of things right.
