Michigan supporters of Barack Obama are unable to cast a vote for him in that state's primary. For anti-war supporters of that candidate, that leaves little choice -- vote for a pro-war Democratic rival or find another anti-war candidate. Supporters of Ron Paul extend an invitation: vote for the one candidate who promises to bring the troops home.

Could be a good state. Might be why Ron was up there opening offices instead of being in Iowa recently.

Michigan conducts an open primary, meaning that voters of any partisan stripe can vote in the GOP presidential primary.

The RP campaign is targeting Detroit. This is interesting, though not sure how successful it will be. The fact is, Romney has the name recognition here among older people (likely Republican voters) because he is from a First Family (his father was Governor in the 1960s).

I'm a bit disappointed with how the campaign is handling MI. The grassroots is doing what it can but I don't see many young activists out here. Of course I'm Battle Creek, which is not a university town.

I'd bet that most of the Iowa crew will be coming to town between the 4th and 5th.
