Plan B?

They won't die immediately no. But our immediate goal should be to destroy the GOP. The more people who leave that party, the better. The GOP spits on liberty and they hate us. Working with them does not accomplish anything and only strengthens them by adding numbers. We need to shrink the party -- us leaving will shrink it. That won't make them any more establishment -- they can't get any more establishment. They are the establishment.

I have to wonder about the people advocating the abandonment of Ron Paul's strategy (of working within the GOP to restore it to it's constitutional roots). We have been having massive success with this strategy, including electoral wins (such as Massie and Bentevilio), and gaining the majority of the party apparatus in multiple states, (in those states we will be making the rules, we will be deciding on the candidates and we will be counting the votes.)

Quitting is exactly what the RINOsaurs want us to do.

I'll press on

You wouldn't believe how few people attend precinct and county GOP meetings. I mean, really, if you grab a few friends and they grab a few friends, you can literally become the GOP in your area. And if friends in neighboring areas do the same thing before long YOU will be the GOP. Make a Party out of it. Go for drinks afterward. Make it a family night outing. A lot of the older people there just have nothing better to do. Make it fun.

We've come pretty far. We can do this!

Huge list of New Hampshire 2012 pro-liberty candidates and recommendations

Below are lists of recommendations for the 9/11 primary election and a list of pro-liberty candidates. After the primary, I'll update the list of recommendations for the 11/6 general election. This task is still a work in progress and quite time consuming as NH has both the most candidates and the most pro-liberty candidates.

NH Primary Recommendations:
Sometimes the recommended candidates aren't great pro-liberty candidates. Some races don't have pro-liberty candidates so that best available candidate is recommended. Recommendations are only listed for contested primaries.

NH Pro-liberty Candidates:
Generally, I classify a candidate as pro-liberty if the candidate was endorsed by the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance (the premier non-partisan, all volunteer, pro-liberty state organization in the county), the Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire (the flagship state chapter of the RLC) or endorsed Ron Paul or Gary Johnson. Other considerations will also be used, such as what LibertyCandidates.com thinks of a candidate. Additionally, other considerations may also be used.

I'll figure things out in other posts in this thread but I'll repost the list of pro-liberty candidates and recommendations in this post.

About the RLCNH. In 2010, the RLCNH did endorse some candidates which might not be considered pro-liberty. The RLCNH changed it's standards. Now, the RLCNH claims to only endorse pro-liberty candidates. It has another level of candidates which are called "recommended" candidates.

Now that Ron Paul has announced he is not interested in a third-party run, it is time for Plan B, thanks for starting this post realtonygoodwin.

If you look at the highest performers in any field, they have gotten that good by rigorously self-analyzing themselves, identifying their weaknesses, and correcting course to ameliorate their weaknesses. A lot of top politicians were nobodies, but they figured out what they were doing wrong and changed. If we want to make a difference in the future, we need to start with ourselves.

The grassroots made a lot of mistakes and unless we correct course I'm not expecting that anything will be different in the future. Maine was a tremendous example of standing up for what is right, I applaud their actions and in addition there turned out to be some positive results such as media coverage, which was just gravy. It wasn't correct that so many states compromised on the delegates, there should never be compromise (ie being swept under the rug) when we were so totally in the clear. There should have also been an immediate lawsuit in MA when those delegates were stripped. One should not stand down to totally illegal and fraudulent actions, why would anyone allow a legitimate election to be overturned and ppl handpicked by GOPs to go to the convention? What was the point of the elections and my driving 2 hours to get there? Now we are in tough shape for the next few election cycles because since there was no challenge to these GOP rule changes, they now have some precedent on their side.

I am optimistic in the future but we need to be really clear on what our objective is and some leadership is really needed because a lot of these decisions are not obvious and only come from a lot of thought. This is why we had each state's elected delegates deciding independently what should be done, you end up getting random outcomes this way, rather than a united front. If there was some inter-state communication I don't think we'd have had such a diaster with the delegates. We each need to use our unique talents, I'm sure there are a fair amount of lawyers here and we need them to do certain tasks, others who are good in other areas that focus in that area. While there were certain areas in which we were well-organized there were others where things made no sense and I felt this disorganization throughout the entire campaign.
