My wife and I just got back from the first stop (In Des Moines) on the Jan. 2 Whistle stop tour. There were 400+ people squished into the hotel conference room if I had to guess. Some people couldn't even get in. We ended up getting interviewed by 3 different reporters. There were around 50 video cameras, all major news outlets represented.

I don't know about the Santorum surge, but the excitement for Dr. Paul is palpable in Iowa right now!

Amazing, by the time I got home, Ron Paul was on CNN a few minutes later live in Davenport Iowa. At least a 3 hour drive from Des Moines. He must be putting that private jet through it's paces today! Would love to see photos/videos from the other whistle stops.
