Phoenix imposes cuts on police pay in late, tense session

Most of those police officers would be glad to be able to legally beat people up on a daily basis for free. Why pay them anything?

I have a feeling Phoenix will be a little more patient with these protestors, than the Albuquerque City Council meeting going on tonight.

Not to mention the money and goods they manage to skim as part of the job and the BJs they get from women desperate to get out of a traffic ticket.

Fucking overpaid thugs.... if I lived in Phoenix I would be hammering all the council members over not cutting these fuckers even more.

I'm not convinced that does anything...or I'd have my councilmen on speed dial.

If it's true that people are unhappy 'working' for APD, they should take a page out of Amazon's book and do what Jeff Bezos did: offer a $5,000 bonus to quit. That would probably make the APD and the citizens of Albuquerque happier.

The 'cuts' are proposed over a ten year interval and are not cuts to their salary as far as I am aware.

Uniform reimbursement being lessened, reduced holiday pay... that sort of thing.
