Peter Schiff money bomb is now official - It's time to make history again!

-It has the wrong date
-How can you possibly have 6,000 pledges when you just launched it?

We will look into why the date is wrong. some of us also sent out an email blast with more email blasts to come. considering how well this is going already we could hit 20,000 and raise 2 million or more in one day. Awesome! UPDATEDI was also just told that this has been promoted for 3 or 4 moths on www.schiffbomb.com so the combination of the two is surely why we have so many pledges thus far.

1. A validated email address is a very simple and efficient way to generally identify a unique pledger. This makes sure they are real while at the same time generally ensuring that they are a unique person. Of course it isn't perfect.

2. Having the email addresses on file to remind those who pledged is also very important. We are confident they meant it when they pledged, so we help remind them on a regular basis leading up to the day of the bomb.

Totally understandable. I'm talking about emailing "pledges" post money bomb date. I understand the reminder emails.

3. If people are interested in supporting this particular effort of RetakeCongress.com, they may be interested in other similar efforts. So we will let them know about those things. OF COURSE, any time that someone does NOT want to receive emails, their removal request will be honored quickly.

It should be opt-in. Not opt-out. (<--- Biggest point of my post.)

If you are going to email them after the date of the moneybomb then it should be clearly written on the wall.

Unless other wise indicated people think they are signing up for a pledge. Not an email campaign.

This statement is false in my opinion. If it were true, then you would announce that emails will not be sent out post money bomb date.

If there were a way to select a check box next to the email entry that says "Email me about similar future events" then people would know they are signing up for more than just a pledge to donate.

Trevor knew that we were in discussions with Peter's political consultants, yet made the decision to go ahead on his own any way. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. We appreciate his enthusiasm.

Fair enough. If you add on your site that you won't send out emails to people after the moneybomb then you've got my support. Many think they are simply pledging, but that hasn't been the case in the past.

If I send my friends and family to this site I don't want them to unknowingly be signed up for an email campaign.

Josh, I am not concerned about emails only raising money for Peter as I stated earlier, you should speak to Rayzer about the other tech issues concerning emails although I like your idea about people checking a box to receive future emails.

I would also like to add that if you don't want to pledge and put in your email in concern that we will misuse it, simply do not put in an email address for I understand your concerns and get spam mail all the time for the reasons you stated.

We are not here to make people things they do not wish to do, Our goal is to Raise Peter Schiff 1 million dollars in 1 day and I hope we will have your support.

The date is starting August 1st for the week long schiff-a-thon and the money bomb date to donate is August 7th

What's with all the claims to be "official"? The RP money bombs never had to contact or get the blessing of the official campaign. FEC concerns aside, it takes away from the grassroots spirit that made these efforts popular. I think Obama and Fred Thompson made attempts at "official" top down money bombs, and we all know how well those went.

This looks to me like an effort to attract viewers to RevolutionBroadcasting on the potential popularity of a money bomb for Peter Schiff.
