Gotta have some laughs at "white haired" Tobin Smith's assessment that the doom and gloom people of the 70's made money for 2 or 3 years but then not for the next 20......

His argument is a complete fallacy to anyone with a brain.......

The difference between now and the 70s....is in 1980....we had a much broader industrial base for manufacturing......it is ALMOST GONE....SENT OVERSEAS.....Its not here to help us recover this time when the OTC derviatives and bond market meltdown occurs.....also OTC derviative counter party risk and the coming losses from counter parties not being able to make good their end was not a contributing factor in what happened during the 70s

Tobin Smith doesn't seem to realize that those who don't change to the times WILL be changed by the times....which in his case will be being wiped out in the style of those who were bullish on the US stock market in late 1928......

At least Schiff gets some love from the smart ones here.........

Too bad the only things we export are Food (which we will need to keep here, otherwise complete anarchy inside the USA), and war (which other nations are growing more and more sour on.)....war is NEVER good for profits, EXCEPT for the makers of weapons....and those who rebuild, that which was destroyed by war...every other producer of goods....IT HURTS.......

We're also exporting our inflation. Funny how if you look at the CPI numbers in countries like Germany, China, Japan, France...etc. their rate of inflation is, in some instances, double that of our own. How is this even possible with the dollar tanking against most of these currencies? I guess a little inflation is good, even if you have to cook the books to get it.

Schiff is a rather common name and it is impossible for Jacob to be Peter's grandfather. According to wikipedia, Irwin, Peter's father, was born in 1928, while Jacob died in 1920. Therefor it is impossible for Jacob to be Peter's grandfather.
