Maybe because they haven't come across this thread? This is a voluntary site and admins aren't paid to read every thread to check whether there are good suggestions. So maybe making your suggestion politely and with a better tone would be more appropriate (and would make it more likely to be implemented).

It's fine to criticize the poster's tone, but please don't say that he stands a chance to discourage the RPF admins from even advertising the call bomb. Surely, you know that this is quite vicious and - most likely - untrue? I'd give the admins a little more credit than that, disregarding the fact that this site has a track record of focusing the majority of their promotional space on one candidate (won't say whom). But as far as I know, there aren't any events planned for that candidate, and the promotional space is empty currently. There's really no reason to NOT advertise the call bomb.

Had I owned this forum, I no doubt will put the Schiff ad right away as soon as I found it.

That said, I know not everyone is exactly like me, and hell yes, there are people who will get be pissed off for being criticized on the way they are doing a completely voluntary job and for that reason be less likely to satisfy the request.

From my POV, the choice of words and an image conveys: Gee, it's so obvious this should be done. What do the admins have in their brains that don't let them see this clear truth????

Well, I disagree. It wouldn't surprise me that someone who requests a favor taking a side shot to a forum member by calling him a nameless goon doesn't really know how other people other than himself react to things. And that "goon" even had a name!

You think taking out the nameless goon thing wouldn't have made it more likely, other things being equal, right?

When they read some negative comments they might even stop right there and not even consider the request. Because if they grant the request it sets a negative precedent, encouraging people in the future to trash talk when requesting a favor.

For example, had Josh sent an e-mail after your request calling a fellow forum member a nameless goon, many would've been outraged and protested.

The goal of the owners is not only help candidates, but also try to keep a respectful environment. That is really hard, but encouraging abuse to the admins isn't helpful.
