Personally this is the best day yet of the campaign. IMO

We MUST win Texas. Not only are there a bunch of delegates, but it's Paul's home state. According to the latest polls from there, we're in last. :(
Texas will be very hard to win, but we do have a tremendous amount of time here as our election may not happen until mid April.

yup , listen to Ron's speech again and believe in something ... years ago there was no hope building , no voice of reason , just apathy and frustration ... now fight

Paul was also polling last in Nevada and Minnesota. Also none of the polls predicted that Santorum would do so well today.

How about a HUGE THANK YOU for the Minnesota Ron Paul Campaign Organization and the Ron Paul Grassroots.

27.3% of the VOTE is now the NUMBER 1 ALL TIME for any State Primary or Caucus in either 2008 or 2012. Montana in 2008 has been dethroned but will have a chance to reclaim its title later this year.

Heck, there are rumors that a State named Maine may beat Minnesota on Saturday, not only in total percentage of the Vote, but maybe, just maybe become the first ever State to deliver a victory for Ron Paul.

All in all, not a bad night and now we look forward to Saturday and the absolutely vital success of the No One But Paul Money Bomb next week.

Ronald Regan lost his first SIX primary's!!
And then he lost the nomination by only a few votes. Not a great example.

However, I agree that today was an awesome day. Short of Ron Paul winning the contests, the next best option was having someone other than Romney win them all. Romney lost tons of momentum, and I honestly think that he is the only one capable of getting a majority prior to convention. Santorum and Gingrich are both deeply flawed, and I really hope that both stay in until the end! I don't think that we have the capability of ever getting more than a quarter to a third of the vote in any but a couple of states right now. While the ceiling is moving up, it takes time to convert people and America just isn't there yet. Therefore as long as things stay a 4-way race, then we will get a brokered convention and a real shot at things.

And the new poll is just awesome.

Polls in states this far in advance are worthless. Remember Newt was over 35% in Minnesota just 2 weeks ago and today barely broke 10%. Paul was at 13% in that same Minnesota poll and today got 27%. Long time between now and Texas.

Agreed! Just goes to show a tight race can have surprises!

Ron pounded Mitt and Newt tonight.

Rick and Newt will not be on the VA ballot. Ron beat Mitt in VA last time.

Is PA likely to vote for Rick?

Need to win Maine and VA for sure. That would be two of the five states we need.

We need to see how many delegates we picked up tonight. They are saying we are number 2 Nationally so there must be some states out there for a win.

Hey, can't say I'm overly excited about the results so far but at least we finally beat Mitt which I think is a first.

Thats very true. Not only that he got his ass kicked by Santorum. I think we would off worse if Romney swept all 3 states like Santorum just did. He will have his moment in the light and keep mitt from runnuning away with it in all other states.

It seems even my non RP friends are having a hard time understanding how Santorum went from near last place to winning three states. Twitter seems to be surprised and doubtful that it was a clean win.

I'm sorry, but that is not true. Neither in 1980 or even in 1976.

Well I dont want to argue with you but...

"1976, Ronald Reagan lost the first six primary contests. He finally broke through with a win in North Carolina. From there, he went on a winning streak to challenge Gerald Ford all the way to the convention. Reagan might have won the nomination at the convention, except he made the mistake of naming Richard Schweiker as his running mate before the delegates were committed and counted. He was hoping to peel off some of Ford's support in the RINO establishment. Instead, a lot of conservatives abandoned him, and he lost the nomination as a result."

"Reagan lost the primary by a hairsbreadth, and Ford quickly parlayed the advantage this gave him into victories in six other primaries. With the North Carolina primary upcoming, the Reagan campaign was on the ropes."
