performance

A Huckabee troll? How Christian. Shouldn't you be hanging a dog or something?

You are a troll. There is no doubt.

He's right. I had to turn it off after 1 hour. It was disgusting to see them jeering and cackling in the background at him. How can you get people to understand all those other people on stage are liars?

The first hour was terrible. He made up for it afterward. Yes, it was excrutiating, but you should have kept watching. No wonder you can't understand the sentiment in general. He did much better in the second half, and those impolite clowns had nothing to laugh at.

Its only because people, imo rightly so, think that the criticism was blantantly obtuse.

Ron got absolutely hammered. He did poorly on the "islamofascism" issue, and he REALLY did poorly on the healthcare question.

Monetary policy and healthcare?? Wasn't even relevant. Sure, monetarism in general causes inflation in all areas, but Ron did a poor job making the tie and focused solely on the monetary issue. That left the door open for Thompson to belittle and ridicule him.

He did better with the immigration and oil issues, but I am guessing people had already tuned him out by then if they were unimpressed with the foreign policy debacle. Too little, too late.

We gained nothing and probably lost ground with this debate. He became flustered when they all attacked and laughed at him, and did not look the presidential part one bit.

With regard to the other thugs (er, candidates): Giuliani, Romney, Thompson and McCain are PUNKS and THUGS. They are absolutely disgusting. At least Huckabee showed a little bit of decorum. Romney is so arrogant and smug it defies belief.

<<< sigh >>>

I disagree with you 100%.
This debate format was awesome.
Ron Paul did awesome.
Everyone tried attacking him and he swatted them away like annoying flies.

Overall Paul did good
Loved the price of oil question and Paul being the only one with his hand up to answer the question and nailed the question.

Its time for YOU to put the lid back on the GLUE.

Ron hammered em. He smoked em. He won.

I could list all the points he made...but I wont bother because others are already doing it.

Of course they all ganged up on him, but NO one had a response to his statement "why do we prop up their dictators?"

The line "its fine to pay lip service to the constitution, but you have to follow it." was perhaps one of the best of the entire debate.

I cant think of where he did poorly.

Very pleased with the format, and our mans effort.

He may not look the part.
He may not be a great debater.
He may not even be a great orator.
But as for me,
I'll take substance over style any day of the week!

Then you turned it off right before Ron answered two questions in a row and answered them in such a fashion that ALL of the other candidates just sat there dumbfounded.

I thought he started a little slow, but the others looked like such bloodthirsty creeps it didn't matter. He really nailed a few of those last questions. The one where Fred Thompson wanted to jump in right after, and then realized he had nothing because, whoops, he doesn't know anything about the effects of monetary policy was classic. I really liked Ron's answer when he was complimentary of Obama but clearly delineated their platforms.

I think Paul does try too quickly sometimes to tie things to the war and dollar devaluation. That showed in his health care answer. The other candidiates did a little better keeping to the direct topic of how our current system is flawed.

I liked Ron's answer on illegal immigration, though. He did more with that than the usual "let's see how fast we can build a fence" schtick that the rest of them pull. Plus he was able to layer the health care issue there, about cost overruns and unfunded mandates on the states.

Paul did okay. The fact he linked illegal immigration and healthcare with a out of control economic problem really puts the spotlight onto the problem. Everything comes back to the economic repurcussions of problems with both healthcare and illegal immigration and atleast he addressed that unlike the rest of the fiscally irresponsible GOP candidates.

well, mainstream America prefers style over substance unfortunately.

You who see this as a poor performance

You do not yet grasp the significance of what Ron Paul is all about. You need to wake up.

You're absolutely right! Ron Paul is not a clever, witty, articulate politician like his opponents.

But he is genuine.

Take your pick.

I can't believe the disrespect the other candidates exhibited. Talking over him as he tried to answer and condescendingly laughing at him. I hope that people are smart enough to see that the rudeness is an attempt to prevent him from outclassing anything that they have to say. I don't have much faith in people's ability to think though.
I am forever amazed at how afraid the other candidates are of the terrorists. It is out of balance. I wonder if there isn't another reason for it. I hope that Dr. Paul's sanity about the war (undeclared) doesn't keep him from getting elected.
One other thought. What do the other candidates mean when they say that they only want to deport the illegal aliens that are criminals. Doesn't being in the country illegally constitute a crime?
