Perfect way to end the day...

Scotch = bog water.

IMO

Make a whiskey sour out of this?

and that's putting it nicely - and there's really nothing to mix with it to make it better. YEARS ago I bar-tended in an NCO club - one guy always wanted scotch and *gag* milk. The bartender reserves the right to not mix a gross (might curdle) drink.

Master of Malt is the first to stock The Glenlivet 70 Year Old Whisky!

Online Retailer Master of Malt is the first to stock Glenlivet 70 year old, an extraordinary single malt that was launched in March 2011. The Scotch, with a price tag of £13,000 a bottle, has been described by critics as "stupendous", and is one of just two 70 year old single malt whiskies ever released.

I think this is the first time I have ever lusted for alcohol.......
You can buy liquor on teh interwebz? I thought that was illegal! :D Nice! I'll look into this.

You're gonna take an aged whiskey and make a sour mix out of it. Really? What ever happened to purity? K,K,K, I've never tried Knobs Creek. Maybe it is a bottom shelf that needs to be diluted. Of course I understand sailors and the need to dilute head gin. Been there done it, but Christ man, can I get an "amen" for land based purity?

It's just fancy Jim Beam.

;)

Knob Creek is a brand of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey produced by Beam Inc. at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky.

It was Fabulous.

"foo foo?"You mean Maraschino cherries? Fabulous?

In port. In port NOW!

It's alright. I understand the deprivations of sea life.

For the Group: Bourbon Milk Punch

It's often said that chicken-noodle soup is the best cure for the common cold, but that would actually be bourbon milk punch. Anyone who says otherwise should not be trusted. Usually served cold, it's also wonderful warm and can be varied with any number of spices or extras.

• 4 parts whole milk
• 2 parts bourbon
• 1/2 part simple syrup (1:1 sugar and water)
• 2 vanilla beans (Madagascar are perfect)
• Whole cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves

In a pot on the stove, scrape two vanilla beans into the milk. Stir over low heat for several minutes. Do not let boil or simmer. Remove the beans. If making cold punch, chill the milk, then combine remaining ingredients over ice in a punch bowl. If making hot punch, combine remaining ingredients over the burner and bring up to desired temperature. Garnish with grated cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or cloves.

If you haven't tried O'Mara's you're missing out. It's great for desert or just relaxing. I am love the mint chocolate because I tend like stuff with a bit of bite to it (especially mint), but all the flavors are good. It's rather comparable to Bailey's. If you haven't had Bailey's, I really don't know what else to compare it to. :o Some might say wine, but I don't think so at all. Too creamy and not bitter enough to be like all the wines I've encountered.
(and no, it's not even close to a "girly" drink)
