People of Lakota Launch Private Bank for Only Silver and Gold Currencies

Hill City, Lakota - November 24, 2008 - In a stunning development, the Free & Independent People of Lakota announced today the introduction of the world's first non-reserve, non-fractional bank that accepts only silver and gold currencies for deposit.

"Today is a great day for us, a day that we begin to exercise our rights as a sovereign people with strength and pride," comments Canupa Gluha Mani, Tetuwan Council Judicial Member of the Cante Tenza "Strong Heart" Warrior Society. Mani's 2500 member warrior society has contracted to provide private security services for the Free Lakota Bank.

"We invite people of any creed, faith or heritage to unite in an effort to reclaim control of wealth. It is our hope that other tribal nations and American citizens recognize the importance of silver and gold as currency and decide to mirror our system of honest trade." Mani, also known as Duane Martin Sr, is a member of the delegation that declared Lakota independence on December 17th, 2007.

The launch of the Free Lakota Bank is also an incredible victory for StrikeForce Technologies, the access control experts providing depositor Out-of-Band Authentication. As the Free Lakota Bank does not require a name, photo identification or social security number to transact, StrikeForce's technology met the challenge of limiting fraud without requiring controversial biometric technology.

The People of Lakota invite depositors to establish accounts and invest in the Free Lakota Bank's General Investment Fund, the fund it uses to develop profitable free-market enterprise inside Lakota territory. Mani comments that the nation despises donations and charity, and instead insists instead on "earning our wealth by creating value for those that place their faith and trust in our system."

The Free Lakota Bank issues an American Open Currency Standard Approved currency, making it readily accepted for trade by over 10,000 merchants and businesses across the continent.

We need to support this. They deserve the support, this is a simple rejection of the Fed, and with the rates of inflation we're likely to see when the credit crunch snaps this is just the ticket.

Wow. They are going to get so invaded. Mobsters won't ever allow this. But how beautiful it would be to be free.

It has been a long time since the U.S. treated a treaty like pure toilet paper. No doubt the banksters are ready to revive the tradition right now. I believe there is no greater civil disobedience we can encourage than bypassing the Fed in our transactions.

Can we make bartering with silver too cool?

We need to help them. The entrepreneurs among us can accept and price in their denomination. They could help us by making their coinage compatible with old U.S. circulating silver. If they can get to where we have distribution set up for them in various locations, we could really really piss the Fed off. And I, for one, would really really love to piss the Fed off!

You know, with this bank and all, I wonder if the Lakotah Nation could become a destination for the free state project...

Very interesting and exciting! How politically incorrect will it be for the feds to go after the Lakota Nation...

While I feel this is one of the coolest things EVER!!!! This here will have them shut down by the govt./banks. :( They will be labeled terrorists and such because money laundering could be taking place..

Even more than it was in 1973. You'll note, however, that this didn't stop them. And the MSM hasn't been able to keep it a secret, either.

If you want to get them on you hard and fast, piss off the Fed. The Lakota need and deserve all the help and publicity we can give them for doing this. And then some!

;) Sounds like a plan that needs to be worked on....You aren't alone on the FED stance. How amusing to have the tables turned by a group such as this. Oh sweet irony!!!

I know the feds will be on them hard and fast but the upside is that the intertubes weren't around in 1973. This is one case where using the "Race Card" is most appropriate! :D

I got an email for this today.
Where is this? I did a search and there is a Lakota in Iowa, one in N. Dakota, there is something in Ohio. I went to the website and looked at the contact us link and it says Hill City, LK. So where is it? I am curious about this. Is it an Indian Reservation? Would they be able to do this legally? Can we trust them? The silver coins they are offering are expensive unless you invest $10,000 and even then it's still well over spot.

Personally I would like to see them set up shop and be raided. Hear me out now. If they were raided by the Feds on a private Indian reservation this would help expose the Fed for the dirty underhanded crooks they are. People trying to make an alternative to the corrupt monetary system we have now to have sound money then they get ruthlessly shut down by the Feds. This is powerful stuff.

We need more challenges like this going on. It's risky but done right would further our cause more than anything we have done so far. This kinda stuff coupled with continuous Fed Reserve protests would make a huge impact. IMO.

EDIT:

Annoying the FED into embarrassment should be one of our #1 goals for this movement. Once they fall then I would hope a lot of other things will follow. We need to start making the Fed protests a once a month event as long as the numbers keep growing.

I wish them success and I'm glad people here are voicing their support. I would say though, that the currency part of this looks pretty much exactly like the Liberty Dollar plan that has been villified here repeatedly.

The difference is in the organization selling the currency. Which is why I have repeatedly suggested that a Liberty Dollar type model might work effectively if it was used by respected institutions such as churches, towns, and schools. People wouldn't question so strongly the profits made when they benefit groups seen as deserving.

The Fed needs to fear the people for once.. lets do this.

I like the following quote in the Deposit and Withdrawals section. They are telling you to read between the lines "we will not be informing the U.S. government the interest your account earned or the capital appreciation you earned based on gold/silver price increases."

The currency can be shipped direct from the bank or can be issued by an AOCS Officer. What you do with the currency and the rate of exchange you receive when converting to a different currency is beyond our control

To show support, I plan on investing (in their initial USD allowance) the amount I can afford to lose in the event this is a scam, someone embezzles, or the government shuts it down and confiscates. Who else can invest something ?

Lakota tribe introduces gold and silver backed, non-fractional, non-reserve currency!

Admin note- thread merged.
