Pentagon sending troops to Syria after clashes between U.S., Russian military

They will all leave soon, we are leaving Iraq and Turkey and they will have to leave.

That's what you said one Syria withdrawal ago.

It's coming.

And two Syria withdrawals ago:

Here it is finally. The time has arrived for the fabled, confused and precarious US troop withdrawal from Syria despite the best efforts of neocons and interventionistas to permanently stall and alter course, per a new Wall Street Journalreport that dropped late in the day Thursday: "the military plans to pull a significant portion of its forces out by mid-March, with a full withdrawal coming by the end of April."

It is going to happen.

We are still leaving Syria.

And three Syria withdrawals ago:

Bolton isn't POTUS and Trump will withdraw the troops with or without firing Bolton.

And four Syria withdrawals ago:

President Donald Trump made a surprise announcement on Thursday afternoon, stating during a speech in Richfield, Ohio dedicated to Trump's infrastructure week, that US forces will be withdrawing from Syria, citing the defeat of ISIS and the need to defend US borders and rebuild crumbling infrastructure: "We're coming out of Syria very soon. Let the other people take care of it now."

(Also Iraq)

We will leave Iraq as well.

And it is all happening, maybe not as fast as we want but it is happening.

Um, I just wanted to point out how much sense this makes:
[h=2]Pentagon sending troops to Syria after clashes between U.S., Russian military[/h]Because, you know, if you wanted to stop clashes between militaries, you would obviously just send more military, right?

I think this works in every war.

FWIW, this sounds like a cover story for sending more troops to eliminate a pocket of resistance from natives that they didn't expect. Russia is the cover boogeyman. Remember, military lies about everything as a matter of business.

I don't see any named US defense department officials, why are they anonymous?

Is this another one of those "trump is gonna..." threads, based on anonymous sources?

None of the Syrian Civil War sources I am following confirm this. Tons of rumors in Syria every day, and I am not even seeing confirmation this rumor exists. As for now, this is just a giant empty story to bullhorn "Russia bad mmmkay" again.

Also, the US-Russian conflicts have been tiny, at best. Nobody has even been wounded. there have been a couple of arguments at check points and attempts to block vehicles.

ARMY TIMES 2 DAYS AGO

US sends mechanized troops back into Syria

Bradley fighting vehicles have headed back into eastern Syria, the Pentagon announced Friday, a move that comes after a tense encounter with Russian forces left four U.S. troops lightly injured last month.

The return of mechanized units also comes as the U.S. military deployed Sentinel radar and increased the frequency of fighter jet patrols over U.S. forces in that part of Syria, according to U.S. Central Command spokesman Navy Capt. Bill Urban.

“These actions are a clear demonstration of U.S. resolve to defend Coalition forces in the [Eastern Syria Security Area], and to ensure that they are able to continue their Defeat-ISIS mission without interference,” Urban said in an emailed statement. “The Defense Department has previously deployed Bradleys to northeast Syria pursuant to these goals."

Bradleys from the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team were last sent to Syria in late October 2019 to guard oil infrastructure from Islamic State militants, officials said at the time.

They were quietly pulled out after roughly a month when combined patrols with Turkish forces “never materialized” and the “mission requirements changed,” a military official in the region previously told Army Times... If that's not good enough for you more sources can be provided.

Curious, when do YOU think the Republicans lost their way (whatever that way was) ?

Snot-nosed partisan punks have ruined the US.

And many, on a Ron Paul board no less, support a 2 bit clown game show tv host who hasn't had an original thought maybe ever.

One thing CAN be said for Daddy's little boy - He has made Draft Dodging Cool for the so called "Right" - like Nixon going to China

"I FEEL LIKE A GREAT AND VERY BRAVE SOLDIER" (For avoiding sexually transmitted diseases) - Donald Trump, AKA General Bone Spurs

There's TODAY'S "Leader" of the "REPUBLICAN" party. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

the rest of it though... ha ha. Draft dodging? I don't care one bit. Draft is wrong anyway. I've never condemned somebody for skipping out on Vietnam, "peace piper". I think it is their right to skip out on a war, regardless of reasoning.

also, why are you ragging on Republicans? Do you think any of us care about Republicans?

Snot-nosed partisan punks have ruined the US.

Projection, Mirror magic. Just like that, Just, like, that.

LoL, "peace piper" neg repped me

Have fun voting for a draft dodging buffoon that's made a mockery of the presidency

draft dodging as an insult from someone who claims to care about peace. "peace piper"

Also, Trump made a mockery of the presidency? After Herbert, Clinton, W and Obama, you suddenly think Trump is making a mockery of the presidency?

Now? Now you care about the integrity of the presidency?

Trump is making the presidency great again. I love his every tweet. They make me laugh, and they stick it to the MSM, which considering the seditious traitors in the MSM should all be hanged, I think humiliating them day in and day out is merciful. I'm glad he dodged the draft.

Just rage more.

Oh goody - the Cheerleader is on duty

It's a shame that bad influences like you are allowed to corrupt what's left of the Ron Paul Movement.

You're a traitor and I'd neg rep you again if I could. Maybe next time.
Get lost, ChiCom.

It's not as if it is very many troops compared to how many he is pulling out of Iraq. (let alone Afghanistan)
And it is a temporary deployment that will help prevent an incident that might be used to get us into a hot war in Syria.

Sword,

Do you think Trump should speak directly to Pres Assad?

I think that would be a good thing.
I don't know if the Iranians would allow Assad to speak to Trump though, they continually refuse Trump's offers to talk to them.
