UP IN SMOKE
Obama's Cannabis Crackdown Ignores His Own Past
Obama Would Not Be President If His Own Laws Were Enforced Against Him

I think we should be going to stories like this that are getting traction and doing things like putting a link to the SD Money Bomb, or the MittExposed website, in the comments. Sometimes we need to go to the eyeballs if the eyeballs aren't coming to us.

GOOGLE: "penn jillette obama" and see for yourself the traction this story about this libertarian is getting. Ron Paul has not yet attacked Obama ... Penn Jillette is OUR unofficial surrogate.

UPDATE: See Penn Jillette has endorsed Gary Johnson ... that sucks ... but still, I wish everyone would flood things like this with comments to promote our agenda and priorities.

Isn't Penn Jillette supposed to be an ancap? Cuz I never got why he wasn't more enthusiastic about Paul. I mean, endorsing Gary Johnson (who I like), who is liberty-friendly but deff no libertarian, while Paul is a total Rothbardian makes absolutely no sense. I really don't hope it's the abortion/Jesus thing, though it wouldn't surprise me cuz even though Penn is insightful, he also seems to be shallow at times. I'm as far from a religious person as you can get but I really couldn't care about Paul's religious leanings...

I don't know what PJ would self-identify as, but I've never heard (from him or anyone else) that he was an ancap.

I do know he likes Ayn Rand's work a lot (though I don't know if he's an Objectivist).

I don't know how he would self-identify. I am sure he'd accept the label "libertarian."

And Gary Johnson *is* a libertarian (just not a very strong one) - it seems to be more of an inclination than a conviction for him, though.

Neither does Penn. See the @1:40 mark in this interview:

He's refered to himself as an anarcho-capitalist for a few years now. Gary Johnson is libertarian leaning, he likes a little too much government interference in social issues (isn't for full drug legalisation, wants state recognized marriage, etc). I'm with Walter Block on him being about "65% libertarian".

I know, I've seen it, but I'm still surprised that he's never spoken that fondly of Paul and he does tend to make a big deal about people's beliefs.

Those who say Gary Johnson isn't a libertarian are mistaken. Libertarianism is not a point in the political axis, it is an entire fifth of the political spectrum, according to the LP's own Nolan Chart. And the LP has been actively recruiting him since he was in office. So rest assured, the man is libertarian enough to bring this country closer to where we all want to be. I just wish the drama queens on both sides would just stop the infighting so we can build the Liberty Movement.

Has he? That's great. I haven't kept up with PJ for a while - the most recent things I've seen have been Bullshit! episodes and some brief, topical odds-and-ends (Penn Points and the like).

You don't happen to have any references to any Penn/ancap stuff, do you? I'd love to see what he has to say & how he says it.

I agree. And that's enough to qualify as "libertarian" (especially with the loonies we have running the asylum today).

I like GJ, but he's just too wishy-washy on some things (foreign intervention, Federal Reserve, etc.).

He just doesn't engage my enthusiasm at all.

Bill Clinton too, right???

Yeah, I'm getting tired of these crooks.

Why doesn't an officer storm into the white house and attempt to arrest him? I mean, sure, that would lead to clashes with the Secret Service, but the controversy to follow would be extraordinary...

Jilette is a cool guy and a real independent thinker but i wouldnt take him too seriously. The man just wants to be smoke a joint and be left alone.

he should bring back the Bullsh!t show...but i see where it would be hard thinking up of new topics without being redundant

Actually, Penn has never smoked a joint, or taken a sip of alcohol for that matter. He's as straight-edge as they come.

If someone had told me in 1976 that pot would still be illegal in 1985, I would have told them they were nuts. If someone told me that I would be worried about my CHILDREN being arrested for pot in 2012, I would have KNOWN they were crazy. So much for my common sense.
