Penn Jillette complimented my Ron Paul shirt!

My lady and I saw Penn and Teller in Vegas a couple nights ago and I rocked my Ron Paul 2012 shirt. After the show we met Penn in the lobby and he complimented me on my shirt! Their show is great and they talk about libertarian topics like TSA, the Bill of Rights and the 2nd Amendment. I meant to ask him about a Paul endorsement but didn't have time with the crowd swarmed around but it was cool hearing him compliment Ron Paul in front of about 50 people waiting to meet him.

There's one bit where he "talks" but he's inside a trash bag full of helium so it's not really him talking. Otherwise, no he doesn't make a sound during the show. I guess I shouldn't have said "they talk about libertarian topics" since it's only Penn talking. Penn says that both of them are libertarians during the show.

Teller does talk with people after the show in the lobby though.

Almost 100% sure Penn is a Voluntaryist, so it's natural that he likes the good Doctor. Penn is awesome.

Penn and Teller are about as awesome as they come. I saw their show a couple years ago, and I actually got to go on stage with them for one of their bits. Before the show they had audience members all walk on stage to sign a giant piece of paper. I signed my name as Ron Paul! Lol! I don't know if that had anything to do with being chosen as an audience member for their act. It was amazing. And Teller spoke to me after the show and said I did a good job!

I'm a big, big fan. I wouldn't even think twice about magic if it wasn't for them, but I've developed quite an appreciation for stage illusions now.

AND YES, Penn is a *hardcore* libertarian and loves Ron Paul.

I actually watched "Celebrity Apprentice" this season only because of him. He just got the boot last week, despite being the smartest guy there.

I saw the vegas show, and got to be a volunteer for the bullet catch trick. After the show, I got to talk with both of them and get them to autograph the bullet shell.
While on stage, teller talked to me with to give me instructions, but no one could hear him but me. I was so focused on following his directions, it didnt occur to me that he was talking. Then after the show he talked openly in front of everyone as we were getting autographs. So it is all just part of the act that he doesnt talk. When the show is over he talks to everyone.

One of the things I liked most about their show is at the beginning they actually explain to everyone how magic tricks are done but they're subtly telling everyone in the audience that everything they see around them is illusion. Magic is just a metaphor for how politicians and the media go about their job of directing the country as those in charge see fit. Misdirection, switch, ditch, etc are all tactics used by politicans and media to keep people in the dark about what's really going on. Those that are "awake" can understand the metaphor immediately.

Something Lisa said during the muppet show task may have hinted at Penn's libertarian/voluntaryist philosophy. Lisa thought Penn should have "intervened" on her behalf during her argument with Dayana. She framed it as "does that go against your morality" or something.

They did a film called "Penn and Teller's Magic and Mystery Tour" (Penn is a huge Beatles fan) and Teller talks throughout. I'm a big follower of their careers. They had a great show on in the UK last year called "Fool Us" where performers try to present illusions that they can't figure out.

Ya last time I was in Vegas I saw the Cirque de soleil Beatles: Love, it was great.. but I really wanted to see that show as well, I will definitely be checking it out next time I am there and have some time to see a show.

I agree. But without a doubt, Penn was the most intellectual (and classy) of all of them. Honestly, the rest of the characters are pretty much very annoying, I don't know if I'll watch it anymore. The "fight" with Aiken was just weird to me.

Last year, Penn and Teller did a great show in Britain called "Penn and Teller: Fool Us", where magicians would do their tricks and if Penn and Teller couldn't figure out how they did it, they'd get to open for them in Vegas. Check it out:
