Paul will be on CNBC The Kudlow Report 7 ET today (2/24/12)

At the end... Kudlow asked Ron what he would do if Iran closed down Strait of Hormuz (a hypothetical)... Ron never answers. Ron never answer the question every time its asked >.>. Why is that? Ron should at least humor people by answering what he would do =|.

People will be curious of what the president would do in that situation.. not what lead to it.

Well this is maybe a bit controversial and speculation on my part:

Just because he would fight a war if congress declared it doesn't mean he would personally be ok with the war.

I think Ron - as a member of congress - wouldn't vote for a declaration of war if Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz or if they would built a nuke. He would fight the war as a president if congress decided so, but he would prefer other tactics. Tactics like diplomacy, ending sanctions, and so on.

And I also think he just doesn't join the war drums too much in case he doesn't get elected to shift the public opinion. You can clearly see that the war topic concerns him very much and he doesn't back down on it. Instead he uses every possibility to educate the public on what went wrong in the first place and how to get out of this mess peacefully.

And after all: there is no way that congress declares war. There is a reason why the last dozen wars weren't declared.

So my guess is he doesn't want to say: "We declare war, go in it and win it!" because he doesn't believe that this stuff is worth an invasion of another country. After all: Why would it be the US's job to prevent Iran from building a nuke?

I believe Ron only wants to go to war if American soil is in danger of being attacked. This is just in no way the case with Iran.

But maybe I'm wrong on that, no idea.
