Who didn't see that coming.

Fiorina most lucky getting in top 4 from 6th place, essentially swapping spots with Cruz on basis of a month old Bloomberg poll.

Huckabee/Kasich are energy black holes, so good for Rand to be near Christie. Christie should be at a similar level of desperation as Rand and has shown he's willing to engage.

Rand made a mistake introducing himself in the first debate with some pretty bad attacks on Trump and Christie, but he needs to bring some fire to the next two debates to not get edged off future stages.

Christie, Paul, Kasich were tied, so they drew for slots.

How the F**K is Christie inside of Paul! Please explain.

From my poll math they all have total 27% over the nine qualifying polls. Someone had to go to the 9th slot.

Christie Paul Kasich
ABC 3 2 2
NBC 1 2 3
CNN 4 5 3
FOX 1 3 1
CBS 3 4 2
NBC 3 3 6
FOX 5 2 4
Bloomberg 4 2 4
CNN 3 4 2

Total 27 27 27

If any of these three candidates had recorded a 0 instead of their highest result they'd be excluded with a sub 2.5% average.

The whole "stage placement' is childish--it should just be random. There should also be actual policy questions, no audience and an actual debate but you know how it goes.

Yes. Position should be random, candidates should be given equal time, microphones be mutable and there should be no audience. But that wouldn't be as entertaining I guess...

It's a kangaroo court, not a debate. The so-called moderators act as prosecuting attorneys, and the powers behind the scenes decide which candidates are witnesses, and which one are the defendants.

, candidates should be given equal time,
This is how I have felt from the start; why should anyone get preferential treatment this early in the race especially since so many people are undecided but are forced to make a choice for the polls. Obviously, they are just going to throw out the name of someone that they have heard about, ie firona...who the heck would even say the name kasich, unless they live in ohio

Donald Trump: 25.22
Ben Carson: 19.78
Marco Rubio: 9.67
Jeb Bush: 8.11
Carly Fiorina: 8.11
Ted Cruz: 6.89
Mike Huckabee: 3.56
Chris Christie: 3.00
John Kasich: 3.00
Rand Paul: 3.00

That's alright, Bernie Sanders will fight debate time inequality.

The only thing you can do is take the game show for what it is and turn it to your advantage.

Does it really matter? I feel like there are more desperate candidates than Rand, like probably half of them. Do you think Jeb feels good as he keeps sliding away from center stage? Hell Walker was right there at the first debate and he's gone. I'd rather be on the outside, Rand needs to mind his own business and focus on his positions, let the other folks go at it. I suspect we're going to hear some anger from folks like Kasich and Christie who are vying for the same kind of money, and Jeb will probably ratchet up attacks on Rubio.

The media's position regarding this arrangement could not be anymore brazen, they are probably upset at the prospect of Rand Paul being included in the fold considering they've been trying to get rid of him for the past 2 months.
