The reason I'm focusing on supporters here should be obvious. Threats, harassment, and the like -- in the name of our movement -- are being celebrated and promoted here. This is behavior that has done and will continue to do great harm to our cause, until the instigators wake up and realize what they are doing.

I'm hanging out here in this thread in the (perhaps vain) hope that some of you might stop and think. Remember, we are Dr. Paul's ambassadors and the messengers of freedom. We are engaged in politics, which is all about the are of persuasion.

There are times when malice and injustice should be fought as fire with fire, regardless of the consequences. This is not one of them.

The transcription is done so you can file a return with the central office -- it's the official tally of the results. Your local tally is done by people at each ballot box, and then summed. After the local tally is done, you fill out a return and send it off to be reported.

The space was left blank -- as were many others, because a blank indicates that no votes were cast. It was not questioned because there are many candidates on the ballot, many of whom had no votes -- like it or not, Ron Paul does not have the kind of stature you ascribe to him, so it is not some kind of completely improbable oddity that there would be no votes cats for him.

As the article said, the moderator called out the votes, and Call wrote down the values. Apparently, the moderator skipped Paul by accident, or was interrupted and Call didn't write down his total.

That's not what happened. The ballot boxes are summed individually and then added into a tally. The total on the tally is then written into a return, and sent off. What happened was that Paul's entry on the tally was skipped over, either by the moderator or by the clerk. It's not like she ignored 31 pieces of paper, or something.

Every vote should count. In reality, things get flubbed up here or there, then we try to catch it and fix it. And then we leave poor clerks alone when they fix it.

Because it was written down on the one tally correctly, as she said in the article. It just was missed when they were transcribing it for submission. To correct the mistake, she simply faxed the original tally to demonstrate the error.
