I dont see Ron's numbers up yet, where you getting this info from other than speculation from the site a month ago.

Remember Paul, raised almost $19 million.

Romney "raises" $27 million in fourth quarter
Posted: 10:15 PM ET
SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) - Less than two hours before the 2007 fourth quarter financial filings deadline, the Romney campaign announced it had raised over $27 million. But 18 of the $27 million was loaned by Mitt Romney to the campaign, meaning that just $9 million of it was raised.

To date, Romney has contributed over $35 million of his own money to his campaign, more than half of that in the fourth quarter of 2007 alone. Before becoming governor of Massachusetts, Romney was a successful venture capitalist who amassed an estimated $250 million fortune at the helm of his company, Bain Capital.

The $27 million brings Romney's total for 2007 to $90.1 million, far outpacing main rival John McCain's $42.1 million.

As with the rest of the money Romney raised in 2007, all of it was allocated to primary funds, meaning none of it can be spent on the general election if Romney clinches the nomination and has any money left over. McCain, however, already has $2.2 million waiting for him in his general election war chest.

Romney has almost certainly spent more than $35 million of his own money so far. The campaign has bought significant amounts of advertising time in 2008, including an estimated $2-3 million for Super Tuesday states.

Does anyone know what happens to money that "can't be used in the general election" if it doesn't get spent in the primaries? Or what happens to all the millions left over when someone drops out?

Well I think it's pretty obvious Ron raised about $19+ million as shown by the counter.

But we're looking at just quarter-by-quarter numbers -- according to the thing at the top of the forums, we've raised 5,000,000$ this quarter. According to the first post, Romney raised 9,000,000$ this quarter.

No these numbers are for Q4 2007. Romney raised 9 mil. Ron Paul raised 20 mil.

The numbers that are coming out are for Q4.....which ended December 31.

So Ron raised more that the two frontrunners put together! :D

Where is the source for Paul's 20 million this quarter? The thing at the top says 5 -- is it wrong? What am I missing here?

I mean, 20,000,000 sounds pretty reasonable for TOTAL fundraising to date, but not for just this quarter.

We are talking Q4 of 2207 NOT 2008.

Romney raised 9 million in Q4 (subtracting out lloans to himself)

Paul raised 20 million in Q4

$5M is the number for the 3rd Quarter (which ended September 30). Ron Paul's numbers for the 4th Quarter are not on the FEC website yet.

Romney has $33 million more debt than cash, and he will call it a day.

Huckleberry has about $900,000, and will have to burn it all, if he hasn't already, then he's gone.

It'll be Ron Paul, with about $8-12 Million banked, plus new bucks this 1/4, making him the best off financially.

Can the media still ignore him in a two man race? I believe they would be so disgraced by that in the eyes of America, that it would backfire on them, and don't forget, McCain is a hated man. He's a stealth-liberal.

Ron Paul raised twice as much as McCain last quarter as well.

Paul raised more money than McCain and Romney combined.
