Paul/Kucinich Ticket? ...On the Issues

Hasn't Ron Paul mentioned both John Stossel and Walter Williams as potentially running mates?

I think John Stossel would be good.

I've heard Walter Williams believes in a more interventionist neconservative foreign policy than that of Dr. Pauls... Does anyone have any articles on this subject?

I've heard people mention Pat Buchanan, but I think Ron would lose a lot of minority support with Buchanan.

I like Dennis Kucinich as a a person. He seems like an honest fellow, and believes in what he's doing.

But I could not disagree more with him on most issues. He is the polar opposite of Ron Paul on too many issues. He would destroy any chance of winning for Ron Paul among Republicans.

Maybe for an independent ticket, but isn't there only about a .01% chance of Paul running as an independent?

I feel the same way about Chuck Hagel after he supported the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill (a nation killer, and surely the worst piece of legislation since McCain has been in office).

There is no such thing as a back-up Ron Paul. Especially not one that can help him in a third-party bid. So he is going to have to be a bit creative in selecting a running mate.

This anti-Kucinich diatribe is really pissing me off... seriously, I promise you that if there is one problem with this campaign, it is those that continue to convince others that Ron Paul is some sort of anti-liberty Whackjob Christian.

Even Ron Paul compliments Kucinich. The economic policies and what not are up for grabs, I'm not entirely convinced by Ron Paul's ideas in that regard.

I WANT LESSER GOVERNMENT. Period. That's it. I'm tired of both sides. I'm tired of too much economic nanny state from the Democrats, and I'm tired of the insane Christian values and social fascism from the Republicans. It's got to stop. This forum sounds more like a Nationalistic Rally than a movement for freedom.

By it's very nature, freedom is going to piss you off. Other people's freedoms bother you. I can't stand some of the shit out of there... but I believe in your freedom to support and spout it...

I don't support one side that says, Only OUR freedoms are protected. There are many on this board who believe that...

I'm sorry. You live in a pluralistic nation. You live in a nation of pagans, witches, mormons, christians, muslims, non-believers, satanists, and scientologists (shudder)...

You live in a nation where people define life differently. In this nation, our freedoms are protected by the Constitution. But DAMN everyone of you who says it stops there... Our FREEDOMS EXTEND FURTHER! We have the freedom to love who we want, we have the freedom to NOT worship, we have the freedom to withhold support for political ideologies we don't agree with, we have a freedom to be treated fairly, we have freedom to private property, we have freedom to have access to our decision makers about our lives! People we have a FREEDOM AND LIBERTY to define what it means to US!!! It is not the job of other people to define what liberty is to us! Have you all gone blind!? Stop with this neo-con crapfest. You people are not special. Get in line, and take someone else's liberty as a confirmation of your own ability to maintain stupidity.

I'm telling you, some of the idiots on this board are really, really, really grating on me.

I would be horrified with that idea. I would be quite disappointed in Paul if he made that decision.

You're way off the mark if you believe that. While there are extremists in every group, the vast majority of those here believe in individuals' freedoms, even if they don't agree with how people act on those freedoms. I've been here for a couple of months, and I don't see where you're getting the idea here that people here believe that only their freedoms count. That's certainly the antithesis of Dr. Paul's message.

Spend more time here. Of course it is against Ron Paul's message... which is why I fight them. They are here, and they are spectacular.

Oh wait, that's a Seinfeld reference.

Once again, PLEASE NO!!!

Ron Paul- Libertarian.

Dennis Kucinich- Socialist.

Dennis is the leftest Dem in the running. Why people think he'd make such a great running mate is beyond me.

This anti-Kucinich diatribe is really pissing me off... seriously

I may be part of the anti-Kucinich diatribe, sorry, there are a few things I want to make clear.

1. After Ron Paul I have more respect for Dennis Kucinich than any member of Congress due to his consistency and his uncompromising integrity.

2. I couldn't disagree more with his economics.

If Hillary and Giuliani or Huckabee win nomination, it could work. If Obama gets the nomination, we'd need a stronger VP candidate than Dennis -- which is too bad; I like Kucinich, even if he is a socialist; at least he's an honest one, and he couldn't do much harm with RP in the White House. Besides, after 8 years, he might even come around on all the issues.

Ron Paul is 72... You can't guarantee he'll be around for 5 more years even if now he seems totally healthy. I volunteer as an EMT and see plenty of older seemingly healthy people that workout regularly that have heart attacks or strokes. I don't think we could risk a socialist like Kucinich as VP, even though he is honest. Our government is far enough in debt as it is.

Okay, but I really wouldn't stress the age issue.

If he was younger, I wouldn't mind Kucinich as VP as much because I think he would be well protected from assassination.

I respect Kucinich a lot, I think he is a truly honest and decent person, But his economic policy is disastrous.

He may help get votes, but I think making him VP and allowing him to have the chance of being the guy in charge is too big of a risk.

Well, this is an interesting test to take in terms of which candidate comes closest to your views. Only takes a couple of minutes.

Chuck Hagel as running mate... isn't he one of the guys who is connected to Diebold? If so, I think it's an EXCELLENT choice. There is no way to win a rigged election without playing dirty tricks!!

Dude, Starbucks called...they want their coffee machine back.

Chill out. I don't know who you're insinuating as being bigoted/prejudiced, but with the mess our political system is in, we've got to take small steps, not giant leaps. If Paul were to run 3rd party, he'd need a running mate who's consistent with him on most issues.

I like Pat Buchanan, but previous posters are right - he'd ostracize the moderate votes, for one reason or another.

Just encouraging open discussion.

I support a Paul/Kucinich concept.

It runs deeper than issues. People have claimed to be even more scared of Kucinich than Ron Paul so that would curve the urge to take out RP if you know what I mean.

Especially those who do own guns that don't want Kucinich as president.
