Paul/Kucinich Ticket? ...On the Issues

The Republican convention will never give their votes to Kucinich, which they shouldn't. The only thing a Kucinich on the lower half of the ticket would do is, well, nothing, it gives us no boost, only detracts from the neocons who were gonna suck it up and vote for us.

Andrew Napolitano for VP!

Good choice, but how great would it be to have him on the Supreme Court?

Kuchinich would never get the nomination through the convention, but besides that I would never vote for a Paul/Kucinich ticket. Having him one heartbeat away from the Oval Office is insane.

Dennis K is a very likeable guy... though, his responses on the interviews sound like a Pandering used car slaeman sometimes.

I watched both on him yesterday... Bill MOYERS and C-SPAN.... nice logic and resonable answers/solutions, though I don't agree with everything.

When I see posts like these, I can never take them seriously. There is not one sane person on planet earth that could ever seriously consider Kucinich. Post like these cant possibly be anything more then troll bait. Why do you think anyone would consider a ultra left leaning liberal, that claims to have seen UFO's into OUR campaign? WOW! Talk about making us look like kooks.

Please people, dont talk stupid, Kucinich isnt even a consideration.

Kucinich is a socialist gun grabber who voted FOR the Iraq Liberation Act when Clinton was President and has now flip flopped on the issue now that George Bush is President. He's no Ron Paul, that's for sure.

Kucinich is not a libertarian or anything even close. Talk of him being a running mate is flat out insane. It's a joke started by a bunch of neo cons. Anyone who thinks its a good idea must be some sort of a former Democrat that doesn't understand all of Ron Paul's positions or doesn't understand Kucinich's positions.

How many times does this need to be brought up? The answer is no, Dennis is a principled socialists, and Dr. Paul is a principled Constitutionalist for liberty.

+ He doesn't really believe in pulling out of Iraq 100%. He wants to hand the country over to the UN, or something.

He believes in the constitution. And in civil liberties. And in peace. Are there that many more important political issues?

With his views on gun control and socialist policies, he does nothing more than pay lip service to the Constitution, since all of these are unconstitutional.

Bull****. Anybody who doesn't support the second amendment and does support socialistic programs that rob Peter to pay Paul doesn't believe in the Constitution, or Civil Liberties. And he believes in Peace as long as it's administered by a Goon in a Blue Helmet.

I'm henceforth reserving MY second amendment right for dealing with socialists who decide to troll by proposing Kommie Kuchinich as VP.

Kucinich, NO (maybe in a Paul cabinet). Think someone who is politically 'bilingual'---who could be acceptable in a conservative Republican, and a Libertarian/Constitutionalist context. Like:

Bob Barr
Barry Goldwater Jr.
Walter Williams

That kind of list.

Dennis Kucinich certainly sides with Dr. Paul on foreign policy and the "War on Drugs", but on everything else? Forget about it. Pro-gun control, pro-abortion, pro-welfare state, the list goes on:

What say you?
I haven't a clue as to why this assinine question pops up every once in awhile. I would not vote for a Paul/Kucinich ticket. No way, no how.

Whereas Paul is constitution first. civil liberties second. peace third. Kucinich is a real pacifist. I think this explains his tolerance for gun control regulations. I think he is a politician of similar caliber to Paul, even if his views are sometimes starkly different.

Take a page from Huckabee? Don't worry as much about left or right but up...

I think Kucinich is politically bilingual. He's very smart. And direct and honest about his views.

Kucinich's reputation is a deal breaker that would diminish Paul's chance at actually winning a 3-way race, imo.

It's not "troll bait," as you put it; more than several people in my local Meetup group have voiced their desire to see Paul run with a more "moderate" and outspoken Democratic candidate. As Dr. Paul has stated a few times that he has worked with Dennis in the Congress and is a close compatriot, lots of people have suggested this. If you read my post, you should be able to deduce that I am against the whole idea.

A few links to corroborate the claim:

Again, I'm saying this would be a BAD idea.

I think we got a hint tonight in the Town Hall meeting who Ron Paul's choice for running mate may be: Chuck Hagel

Paul mentioned that Hagel is considering running. Obviously he is not considering running as a presidential candidate, it would be too late for that, so it may be that the Paul campaign has been in talks with him regarding the vice presidency on a Republican ticket.

If Ron Paul switches to an independent ticket, it seems more possible that he may actually consider Kucinich as a VP to suck voters from both the democrat and republican sides. He mentioned him as a candidate he would support, after Hagel, if he himself wasn't running. Its true that died in the wool Republicans would not vote for him, but moderates, independents, and crossover democrats may.

A lot of people here say a lot of horrible things about Kucinich based on his socialist leanings, but we don't really know him as well as Ron Paul does. Perhaps Paul sees something in Kucinich up close that we aren't able to see from the sidelines.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out. To those who will not consider a Paul/Kucinich ticket, what would you do instead? Not vote? Vote for a neocon? Libertarian?
