To a point he's right. People that have this gravitas don't really need to hit red meat to satisfy their supporters.

But how does he explain Ron Paul's growth in popularity on the internet, where facts and data are virtually costless and limitless? Ron Paul has built a massive base of people that have looked at the data, particularly the FED's response to the 1920 downturn, the 1929 downturn, the return of the troops in the late forties, the price controls of the 70's, the labor controls of the 50's-90's, and the dot-com and housing bubbles.

We have the data, we have the logic, and we have the morality on our side. So yeah, Ron Paul can say "Goo Goo Gah Gah", and defeat Krugman's argument that says "I think I know what's right, despite all the facts, and I'm going to force the entire world into my cleverly designed system."

Hell, an actual baby could spit-up on camera and out-debate "But I don't have my [misleading] data!" Krugman.

"You can use other things than money for trade; there's always barter" - Krugman

"The current crisis was caused by too many competing currencies" - Krugman

"I'm not aware of anyone going to jail for using something other than the U.S. dollar for trade" - Krugman

And those are just a few of the utterly ridiculous things spewed from Krugman's furry mouth during this ONE interview. I'd advise him to stick to his day job, but since this is his day job, I'd advise him to take up piano and live out his life playing in a Billy Joel Cover Band.
