Paul focusing more on Abortion this time?

Ok, fine, you don't get to murder a cow just because you claim to believe it's not murder.

Now I'm going to lock you up in a cage for the rest of your life for murdering a cow with the intention of eating it.

It's not a matter of opinion.

Please state your case on why a cow is as close to being a person as a fetus. Like I said earlier in this thread, in a recently class the question neuroscience and the issue of whether or not a fetus feels pain. Even the non Christians in the class generally agreed that it was appropriate to look into because "Nobody knows where the line is when a fetus crosses over into being a person." Most Americans have rejected the notion that there should be no protection of life before the baby leaves the birth canal. But where exactly to draw the line is an unsolved issue for most people.

No because Joe Rogan and Adam Carolla are pro-choice. They don't consider early term fetuses to be people. They are on team: people in that they think it is ok for people to eat animals.

AB2010 was saying that you have to believe in God in order to be on team: people and that fetuses are imprinted with God. I said there are plenty of people on team: people who don't believe that fetuses are imprinted with God.

You eventually run into a couple of issues as cultural acceptability meet right/wrong. Generally around this board - the principle of non-aggression is mostly assumed. In some parts of the world, that would be considered absurd. Some parts of the world will get people arrested for killing a cow:
http://articles.timesofindia.indiat...lling-cows-stiff-penalty-environment-ministry
The planned legislation to protect cows, it appears, will provide for rigorous imprisonment of a minimum of two years, running up to seven years, and a fine of up to Rs 10,000.

There were times in history when human sacrifice was deemed normal.

Where does that leave us? Some will say "everything gets questioned and nothing can be known with certainty." Others will say the answer is in a faith system. Some will try and distinguish between human organisms that counts as persons and those that do not (with an assumption that this 'personhood' should carry weight - even though we know that has been historically dependent on culture (ie human sacrifice).

I like the idea of a world where it is wrong for one human to kill another human. I like the idea of a world where a human can kill and eat an animal without legal repercussions.

The pro-life position is in perfect harmony with Dr. Pauls overall message of personal responsibililty. I think Dr. Paul has probably done more to push young folk in the direction of being pro-life than any other public people in modern history. I hope he keeps pushing it.

^Thread winner

The reason I said the other BS was a distraction is because this is the point you keep making. I am not in this thread to discuss the merits of abortion. I already have my views and they are well articulated. I am in these threads because whenever Ron brings up abortion he plays the faith card. I am here to discuss the faith issue Ron claims to be addressing which is using guns to enforce abortion.
...

I don't think Ron's use of 'faith rationale' is because that is the only way he can rationalize his abortion stance. I think he uses it because he finds it most practical and most politically expedient.

If you eat this are you eating a chicken or an egg?

^Why the hell would you eat this?^

So you're telling me basically that every time I am eating an egg, I am eating a chicken.

Using your logic, ^^^this is a chicken.

Apparently you can't tell the difference between this:

and the picture you posted.

This is what you would actually be eating.

Any questions?

That's a chicken. An animal without the same rights as a HUMAN. A chicken does not have the right to life. A human does.

Yea, no one would eat that though. A fetus in a chicken egg is not considered a chicken, no matter what it looks like.

incorrect.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut_(egg)
A balut is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled alive and eaten in the shell.

Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors in the regions where they are available. It is commonly sold as streetfood in the Philippines. They are common, everyday food in some other countries in Southeast Asia, such as in Laos called kai look (ໄຂ່ລູກ) and Thailand (where it is called Khai Khao - ไข่ข้าว), Cambodia (Pong tea khon ពងទាកូន in Cambodian),[1] and Vietnam (Trứng vịt lộn or Hột vịt lộn in Vietnamese). They are often served with beer.

The Filipino and Malay word balut (balot) means "wrapped" – depending on pronunciation

Idc about abortion as an issue at all.
First of all, you are electing a president: a commander in chief. There primary focus is foreign policy, not social issues.
Secondly, no president can overturn Roe v. Wade, you'd need a new justice to retire (2-3 more in fact), but the thing is that they actually wait to retire until their political party has the presidency, so it will very likely never change.

However, all that said, this is one extremely rare time when petty social issues that people get so rilled up about will work in our favor. I just hope it doesn't scare off the libertarian pro-choicers, etc.
