Paul Festival: An Invitation to Dr. Paul

Speaking of misniformation, the campaign frequently misstates the laws when it says that the campaign cannot cooperate with PACs. I used to think they were wrong, now I just think they're lying so they don't have to admit they simply don't like the grassroots.

That's just sad, because if Ron had it his way, the grassroots would have made the official campaign videos. His biggest flaw is that he delegates too much work to others, and gives them too free a reign.

It's a testament to Ron Paul that, in spite of his campaign constantly bungling messaging and trashing the grassroots, Ron was able to reach so many.

Think again ;)
First to answer your questions:
1. Yes.(I believe 2,500-5,000 dollars. Not sure I read it 6 months ago so dont take my word for it.)
2. If Romney is doing coordination he is breaking the law. Here comes in law "lingo". Did he coordinate or he spoke ("Good day" is not coordination). There is difference and there is everything in between. .

Romney speaks to his Super PAC as in, he stands in front of a large group of people and talks. The only thing he cannot do is ask for money while he is there.

Looks like I am wrong about that.

H
ere's an article talking about Romney and Karl Rove attending a Super PAC function this weekend:

The actual rule on coordination between campaigns and interest groups is quite narrow and permeable through a bevy of loopholes. Romney is allowed to talk to groups working on his behalf and even raise money for them, something he’s done several times. The only thing he’s not allowed to do is talk about the strategy for spending money boosting his candidacy or attacking President Obama.

Ron Paul could get away with that in his normal stump speech, no special tailoring required.

Oh puhleese, if Ron wanted the grassroots to make "official campaign videos", it would have happened that way.

The campaign did some decent messaging this time around, there's no question about that. But there were a couple of grassroots videos that were amazing - the campaign could have at least acknowledged them.

Remember the 2007 CNN debate, where they had the contest for user submitted video? Paul was the only candidate that actually used a grassroots video. The other candidates probably couldn't even get anything suitable for TV.

I've already shown you the interview in which Ron Paul himself said that he wanted the grassroots to make the official campaign videos. I'll do it again:

http://antiwar.com/radio/2011/04/23/rep-ron-paul-17/

Starting at the 4 minute mark.

And yeah, Ron totally oversees everything that his staff does. Newsletters? Eric Dondero? C'mon.

How mature. Will they do that in front of his father?

Yeah, people will boo even Ron Paul's son for voting for sanctions and endorsing Mitt effing Romney - and worse, giving him cover on foreign policy and saying that Romney's views on the Fed are similar to Ron Paul's.

And that's a great thing.

Triple post score:

I really appreciate all the work you're doing, Deborah. I can't attend, but I still think it's great what you're doing. I wouldn't be able to put that kind of work and dedication into something like this.

No it's not. It's rude, and Ron Paul has repeatedly asked us not to be rude. People that don't care for Rand Paul should not attend his speech. It really is that simple.

I liked when people called Cheney war criminal. If that's rude, so be it.

It is rude, and Ron Paul has asked us not to be rude. Let it be.

Anyway, Rand, being a surrogate of Mitt Romney's campaign, will probably not attend, and the organizers aren't inviting him, so let's avoid a discussion about something that will not even happen.

Obviously I dont have insight into your organization and financial structure and I am not saying that you are wrong but it would be wise if lawyer would double check this. Just to be sure.

We have an attorney who set the org. and Pac up. We're set up similarly to C4L.

I read somewhere - I think it was a WSJ article - that Paul wouldn't attend this event and that he was co-organizing something with the RNC.

Wouldn't this require Ron Paul to give 2 separate speeches? Are you guys asking Ron Paul to ditch the rally he announced and speak solely at PaulFest? If Ron Paul is unable to attend PaulFest, I hope PaulFest will take the Rally into account when scheduling events for the 26th.

It would be cool if, maybe, Ron Paul could open up ceremonies at PaulFest with a brief speech.
