The MSM and other candidates would probably try to spin it against Ron Paul saying he finally showed up at the debate that he properly belonged at since they are constantly trying (in vain) to say that he is less Republican.

Of course then he could just spin it back to them and say that out of the Republican candidates he was the only one man enough to take on the challenge that Anderson offered and show that he could take on the Democrats no problem.

That would be so cool.
