The Elon University Poll is conducted using a stratified random sample of households with telephones in the population of interest – in this case citizens in the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The sample of
telephone numbers for the survey is obtained from Survey Sampling International, LLC.

It's hard to fight against the war in the South, sadly.

You're absolutely right about that. Many of the Republicans I've met in rural Georgia like Giuliani because they perceive him as an asskicker. Huckabee is catching on fast, too.

Luckily, we have an open primary, and there are lots of independents who are pro-Paul, especially in the towns around the colleges and universities.

Um, their study says that Democrats outnumber Republicans in the Southeast. I don't know if this is the most reliable poll.

Tennessee is an open primary state, too, and I'm seeing more and more Ron Paul bumper stickers here all the time.

Tennessee - we're not as dumb as some folks think - IF Al Bore had won Tennessee, Florida would have been a non-issue!

someone needs to show these "good ole boys" the videos of Rudy in women's clothing

and the video of him saying "confiscating more guns = less crime"

Can you find me a quote for that? I'll do another Giuliani video on his gun control standing. The one on Freedom in my signature has gone over well. :)

Believe it or not, that is enormously effective -- I've used it. They'll drop Rudy like a hot potato if you show them that. The only problem is that then they switch to Huckabee. That's the problem with negative campaigning.

War is a BIG issue in the south. The Backcountry folkway is very strong there and it revolves round primal honor and ass kicking, thus they are very Pro-War.

War is a big issue in the south, but I have yet to meet a single person who would admit to supporting Rudy. It is pretty hard to get a southerner to support a New Yorker. Those in the know support Ron Paul, those on the good old boy bandwagon support Thompson, but most are not paying this election the least bit of attention yet.

Tell those guys that China is the real threat to our economic freedom and they soon wont be able to afford bullets to do any "ass kicking"

Its all those damn carpetbaggers that moved down here.

Go back to NYC you big government republicans!

Well, over 29% of the people in this poll still have not decided. Hopefully, many of those folks will start coming our way when they see Rudy in his dress and hear about Huck's tax and immigration policies. I agree, Thompson will end up the main competition down there with Huck not far behind. We just need the 5 so-called top tier to split the vote across the country which opens the door for Ron.
