We traveled north to a GOP Picnic in Bunning country and paid homage to Senator Bunning. Bunning didn't have much to say to Grayson or Paul, but he gave a great speech and I had the chance to speak with him for several minutes about all sorts of different legislation. :D

Senator Bunning has made some GREAT votes in the past, although he hasn't been perfect, he has been someone who has left an imprint in my mind. He stood up against TARP when that wasn't cool. He recently voted against the Farm Bill. Try doing that in Kentucky...:D Anyway, I'm glad to know we will have Rand Paul to take his place in D.C.!

We had about 7 hours in the car for a 2-3 hour picnic. 450 miles round-trip. :D Then, Rand made it home just in time for an interview on GCN.

Hell of a way to spend your Saturday....

Nice day

I was glad to see Bunning start off his speech by blasting the RINOs. I was up front but was wishing I was close enough to Trey to see if he was self concious enough squirm in those khakis of his.

I dont see how Trey can be comfortable right now. When Rand was founding Tax Payers United, Trey was off being an active Clinton supporter.

I am just OK with Trey as Secretary of State. My take with him as a Federal representative is that he is not grounded and does not abide be the intention of the US Constitution. He has no concept that most of what the federal government does is simply not allowed. For that reason Trey and whatever 'good intentions' he has will only continue to keep Kentuckians on the road to serfdom lead by a clueless US Congress.

My Point:

It was cool to meet someone from RPFs! :D:cool:

Yeah, it was good to meet you.

That was quite a drive for you guys but I'm glad you made it out. From what I gather, there are a lot of Republican voters in this region.

Likewise! Yes, there is quite a nice congestion of votes in that area. I assume that is why Austin's crew picked neighboring Boone County for their Rand Paul Summer Vacation.

We will be back up in Northern Kentucky for a fundraiser on September 26th. Send me your address and I'll make sure you get an invitation.

Nice video

I had a great time yesterday. I had a private conversation with Senator Bunning and he had some interesting things to say and his speech hit the nail on the head. Not going to put the details on here but in his speech looks like when he was talking about Rino's he was slamming MM and TG.

Welcome to the board!

I kinda thought that too. I was so hoping the next words were going to be "...that's why I've decided to endorse RP"

it didn't happen, though.

I would expect Bunning to endorse Rand as soon as McConnell endorses Grayson. We all know how much Bunning hates that scumbag Mitch.

It would be iresponsible and frowned upon for Mitch to officially endorse someone. In fact, it might even be against the Party bylaws. However Bunning doesn't have to play by those rules anymore ;)

Bunning came across very well there. I see no reason why as an incumbent he shouldnt be the candidate. I hope he is sufficiently pee'd off with McConnell for 'ending his career'

-----is Sen. Bunning tres PO'ed at Mitch McConnell?
he just might simmer down eventually, i think!!!
lets face it Sen. McConnell did trunctuate a career...
-----if Dr. Rand Paul WINs the seat... does Trey Grayson
then run for Mitch McConnell's seat in pure frustration?
