Palin to endorse 2012 choice on Greta tuesday [MOD NOTE: Speculation]

Palin already endorsed Rick Perry:

“Rick Perry is not only a man of principle whose values are right for America, but he’s also the shrewdest politician I’ve ever been able to keep up with,” she told the startled but delighted throng, “and for those and many other reasons, I am today announcing my support for him — not only for President of the United States, but also for President of the Republic of Texas. The wisdom, the courage, and the leadership skills he possesses make him perhaps the only candidate out there who is capable of reuniting Texas and the United States, and putting ‘legals’ back to work.”

and a staffer immediately said it was a verbal glitch.

By the way, there are no news reports on Palin endorsing anyone today even on the Palin blogs. Could this have been related to the poll results and releasing them the same time Palin is on air?

This is what I was wondering.

I don't know who she will endorse but I really don't think she wants to risk damaging her credibility by endorsing a campaign that appears to be failing already and have it go on to fail. She tends to try and pick assured winners that are close to her beliefs.

^^^^This.

Cain, Newt, or Perry.

Paul is the only one that makes sense. However, Paul will not offer her a job, if she cares about that.

Bachmann would mean that she would put her money on a sinking ship. And Michelle is a like slightly smarter but less popular version of Sarah. It would be a weird move.

Gingrich would destroy her credibility over the long-term, as he will face enormous criticism from here on in. Now, Newt might make a deal by offering her the VP position in return for her support, but that would destroy his campaign should he get the nomination. Still, this is possible.

Cain...absolutely not.

Romney...same story as Newt, except that Mitt should be a lot less motivated than Newt to cut a deal with Sarah.

If she does it will be for Perry not Paul. He is the only one that will not lose her supporters.

My 2 cents

My 2 cents:

Palin ran with McCain - McCain recently spoke out in opposition to waterboarding - I can't find a source for what Palin's position is on torture but I imagine she would not make an endorsement to a pro-torture candidate right after this last debate. I think if she were going to support a pro-torture candidate, she would make the endorsement after the topic has died down more. It's too soon for her to go out on a limb for a pro-torture candidate - thats all.

That leaves only a couple options.

She isn't going to make an endorsement based on someones stance on torture.

I'm just saying the timing is bad if she does. It would make more sense for her to endorse a pro-torture candidate next week after the next debate and when torture is not one of the main subjects in the news.

Hasn't it been obvious to everyone that Newt has been running for Vice President all along? Palin is going to endorse Romney or Newt because it will make it easier for rank-in-file Republicans to swallow the Romney-Newt ticket that they're going to get, unless Paul knocks them off.

My bet is on Perry. After Newt sinks in 2 to 3 weeks, Perry will be resuscitated and Palin will look like a genius. After the first couple of primaries the race will come down to Romney, Perry, Paul.

I think Perry will be gone after Nevada . Paul , Newt , Romney & Cain would be all that is left after that , best I can tell ...

If she does endorse Dr. Paul, I'd just like to say that I hope to NOT see the insulting/negative commentary here the likes of which we saw after she endorsed Rand.
