Problem is = this info isnt going to stay at TNR.. Yes, there may have been 4 or 6 newsletters with some racist crap in them.. but lets be honest, if the newsletter was published for 20 years - that makes 240 newsletters. I think it could be excusable if he missed a couple articles among those 240 newsletters.

I called campaign headquarters and they HAVE issued a press release (listed, "ironically," under Press Releases on ronpaul2008.com). Ron Paul, being the incredibly honest man that he is, has taken full MORAL responsibility, though it is quite obvious that Ron Paul would never write, nor even THINK, such awful things. His record, and previous statements made (some of which are listed under the press release), prove this point absolutely. For all of you who stated you "didn't want to be associated with a racist," fear not. Your delicate sensibilities should now be thoroughly quelled. If not, well, perhaps you haven't really been listening to what Ron Paul has been saying the past, oh, 40 YEARS.

As I read through the quotes in the pajamas media piece, it occurs to me that a lot is being read into the quotes. It's a stretch to make almost all of them racist or anti-semitic. Of course, the point is that the content doesn't matter, just the impact of the allegations about RP. At what point in the Ghandi statement that is frequently quoted does this place the RP movement?
