Outrage in Jordan after a soldier is sentenced to life for killing 3 U.S. troops

A powerful tribe has given the Jordanian government an ultimatum: Release the killer of three U.S. soldiers or face a wave of tribal unrest. The crisis began July 17 when a Jordanian military tribunal sentenced Maarik al-Tawayha, a soldier, to life in prison for killing the three Americans at an air base in southern Jordan in November.
Just as the government was trying to alleviate tensions over that case, a second crisis shook the kingdom Sunday evening: An Israeli security officer shot and killed two Jordanians on the grounds of the Israeli Embassy after being attacked by one of them with a screwdriver. Many Jordanians were outraged that the officer was allowed to return home to Israel without being questioned.
Citizens, activists and other critics say the handling of the incidents by the government, which is appointed by the king, sent the same message: Jordanian life is cheap.

He should have gotten the death penalty and would have from me . And anyplace I can think of I have ever been if some foreign trespassing criminal tries to stab me at my embassy it is OK if I shoot them . Sounds like the little Howeitat snowflakes think they are special and that the feelings of " worthlessness" they have is accurate .

I agree, but I think the big takeaway from this story should be that Jordan looks like it is about to collapse.

I'm not so sure that he does, just because somebody pretends to be a snowflake in order to pick a fight does not mean he really is one, and the Howeitat were a major support base for the current regime.
My guess is that somebody wants regime change and the bought off the Howeitat, they were mercenaries in WWI first working for the Turks against their Arab cousins and then selling out to Lawrence.
