This was my local branch Republican Party meeting!!!

:D:):D Can you believe it??? :):D:)

I think I am still in shock. I was so nervous on the way to our meeting tonight!

Heather, can you or someone who has a hucksarmy.com account, post the resolution against mccain along with the nowaymccain site at hucksarmy.com? We should let them get in on this as well. I would do it, but they're taking their time approving my account.

edit: P.S. nice job

Somebody 'splain what happens next???

Sure. The resolution passed at our individual branch under the umbrella of the Milwaukee County Republican Party. The next step is to see it passed at the county level. We are a very large county and have six branches within the Republican Party Milwaukee County.

That is a great idea!!! Anyone here have a hucksarmy account????

Heather,

Excellent work...

As an on-topic aside, I used your resolution to send a form letter email to the RNC, stating that I personally would not vote for John McCain... I changed a few words here and there, and added my own comments to the end, but I don't see a more powerful way of saying "Screw McCain" than what you wrote. Awesome... just awesome.

By the way, I grew up on 70th and Lincoln...

Heather, did you have to get it on the agenda? How did you present it to the group? Did you read it? Did you have copies for everyone present?

Can you give us a rundown of the night's actions?

I have a county meeting tomorrow, so that's why I'm asking. But I would be cold presenting it. No one else knows I have the resolution.

wow, this is great! I'm assuming Milwaukee county is the largest in the state. This is how I felt when I read about the Alaska coup!

Great job!

Perhaps you should post the resolution in your original post so that we can easily refer back to it. BTW, you stated in another post that you would have no problem if another group decided to borrow or modify it for their own use, correct?

I talked to the chairman ahead of time about a possible McCain resolution.

Here's what I believe to be the actual steps:

1) Make sure that your meeting has a quorum. (For our group that is 7 people).

2) Raise your hand during an appropriate time to be recognized by the chair. Any member who holds the floor can introduce a resolution. After you are recognized, say "I move the adoption of the following resolution." Then read the resolution and hand it to the chair.

3) Someone else in your group should immediately say, "I second it."

4) After any questions or debate, the chair should say, "Are you ready for the question?"

"The question is on the adoption of the resolution; those in favor of the resolution say aye; those opposed say no. The ayes have it, and the resolution is adopted."

Yes, I did bring copies of the resolution for everyone to read. Actually, I could have brought more -- I gave every copy away and a few people wanted an extra.

It sounds great! What impact is it if a County GOP passes a resolution to oppose McCain?

ALL of our tri-cornered hats are off to you Heather!

You done good!

(BTW, I happen to know that this *IS* having an effect on Reince!)

Great job, Heather!!!!
Do you anticipate much if any resistance, ie. "nay" votes as you move this up the chain?

Heather, you are wonderful.

Great Job!

Have you considered running for congress?

Then it would go to the next level -- Congressional District and then the next -- State Convention.

Heck yeah. The "you know what' is already hitting the fan. Our chairman, who talked as much 'you know what' as the next person about McCain, e-mailed me 4-5 times overnight. She is looking for cover, I believe.

(BTW, I happen to know that this *IS* having an effect on Reince!)

Excellent. :) that you know who Reince is.
