Well, that just confirms I'm on the right track. Every time I bump into one of the self-appointed Defenders of the Tradition, the outcome is always the same.
What you have always known, is going away (sooner or later). And that's not some kind of surprise, it's right there in the text of the New Testament-- anybody can go read it for themselves. The people who are supposed to be shepherding the flock (you know, pastors, bishops, etc.) should be teaching that to the people, but that's not a good recipe for keeping weekly collections high...

Tod isn't one of them. He knows they aren't teaching what he needs to know. You criticize these self-styled teachers, and you council Tod that what he has always known is going away as if he hasn't said that very thing a thousand times just on this forum.
Your motive is not to try to make yourself feel like a teacher? Good, because you're trying to teach a calculus student long division. So what is your motive? Maybe I can help you find a method to achieve it that doesn't make people feel like they wound up in Sunday School for Four to Seven Year Olds.

It's a two-way street then...My contributions have nothing whatsoever to do with "teaching" --- I'm not teaching, I'm warning. You can listen or not, that's up to each of you, individually. A warning has nothing to do with either calculus or long-division, it has to do with the incoming ICBM that you cannot see. And unlike the many Chicken Littles on this forum, I'm not calling for people to lay down and accept their fate like good lemmings because "the rich and powerful already control everything", I'm calling on people on this forum (and elsewhere) to go look for the Matthew 24 prophetic signs, for yourself. If you've been watching all along, great, carry on as you were. No update. If not, wake up and go watch!! But to recharacterize a warning as an attempt to "be seen as a teacher" is just an argumentum ad hominem (and false). And yes, I am so bold as to tell you that I'm informing you of something you've never heard, seen or even imagined before -- I don't care who you think you are or what you think you know! (Isaiah 48:6b,7) You can call that "teaching" if you insist on making an ad hominem, but it's not a teaching, it's a warning or, as I prefer to call it, a data-point for those who are watching. If you don't like the packaging the warning comes in, well, that's just life... as Popeye said, I am who I am and that's all that I am....

At this point this is meaningless. It's already served its purpose. The damage is done.
Unless all the protesters are immediately released, their property returned to them, they're compensated adequately for the damage they suffered, snd all the politicians and cops responsible are held accountable and harshly punished, this is just more political theater.
