Hi,
Just getting home from work, anyone have the link to the Oriely YouTube?
I'm sure its in one of the many threads somewhere, but im too impatient to search thru all of em for it.
Thanks.

I just finished watching it on FoxNews.com, not sure if I got the whole thing, it was about 7 minutes or so.
One thing I noticed when watching it online is Ron seemed to have a noticeable lisp which I've never heard before, I actually wondered if it was a Fox edit job. I'll check the YouTube to see if it was there also.
Oriely was obviously an ass, as I'd expect, and he didn't let Ron answer the questions properly, seeming to just want a yes or no on weather Iran is evil.
I think Ron held his own, and the folks who are Oriely fans will think that Oriely won, and the RP fans will think Ron won.
I wouldn't say that Ron lost any support as a result of the appearance and a few intelligent fox viewers might even see that he is making sense.
If I was RP's campaign manager, I wouldn't accept any more invites to any Fox News shows tho citing the disrespectful treatment by Oriley. If he's not going to allow RP to answer, then don't bother having him on the show.

Odd, no lisp on YouTube, definite lisp on the FoxNews site video.

There was talk on the forums that maybe the bass was cut from Ron Paul's voice or that there was some problem with the audio. I thought that if you listen to the whole video that Dr. Paul's voice seems to have less bass half way through the interview. Maybe it's just the youtube quality? I don't know. But I find it strange.

Are people really upset with this debate? I thought it went fine. I never watch Bill O'rally, so I don't have an objectionable point of view. I really think it went well. The Dr debated well and clearly. I didn't think Bill was really out of line any time, except when he said Dr didn't vote to go into Afghanistan. However, the Dr recovered very nicely. I thought it was a great interview.

Ron tried to use logic and reason. Orly is still making decision based on his gut feeling that Iran is evil. And as Jonathan Swift said, "It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into."

Ron only stood to gain from O'reilly

Ron knew it was a hostile situation but worth reaching new voters.
It's not like he lost any supporters from tonight!
There's only gain without risk of loss.
Millions watch that silly show.

Low Risk, High Profit.
Sounds good to me!

Yeah, I thought it went well too. I didn't get a chance to see it until now either.

I like that Ron was able to clearly say that he feels our foreign policy exacerbates, rather than solves, problems in the Middle East. BillO can't get past short-term thinking (Iran is our enemy, they are going to have nuclear weapons...) Ron Paul clearly articulates that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons as a defensive measure against us, because of our saber rattling and presence in the region. BillO also ducks Ron's comparisons of Iran to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

What would really be great would be to hear the viewpoint of someone who knows very little about RP. We supporters know all the ins and outs of his policies, and we can look back and say, "I wish he would have said this, I wish he would have said that..." But taken as a newbie, who has never seen him, Ron Paul's interview ideas may have come across as a breath of fresh air, and his demeanor was just as fresh; of course, that is comparing him to the other dweebs in the race. He may have won a lot more new fans.

Stand back and get the big picture...It was a good interview.

yeah i agree wgadget. definitely a good thing, this interview.

I'm not exactly a newbie, but I am a former neo-con who enjoyed watching Bill O'Reilly until I saw the light, and I am still close enough to that former life to be able to say how I would have reacted.

As a full fledged neo-con, I would have reacted positively to the (R) beside Ron Paul's name. Then, I would have reacted curiously to the "I don't want a history lesson" comment. Sure, I might have felt Bill got the better of him, but I am almost certain that if I hadn't heard of Ron Paul before then that I would have been looking him up online the next day simply based on his reasoned arguments and pleasant demeanor.

That's the God's honest truth. Because that's how I got to know RP in the first place. I heard him speaking on similar topics (and I hadn't once thought about how our foreign policy might be flawed), and so I looked him up.

I think others will do the same, so this exposure is only good.

I've been wrong many times on RP, but I doubt he won many Fox news regulars over. He did very well halfway through but I think towards the end O'reily cornered him and it appeared so.
