Rand Paul is a dangerous elitist — at best.

Rand Paul is a dangerous elitist — at best.
Poor or disenfranchised people may or may not be as intelligent as Paul thinks himself to be. But there is a great possibility that among the disenfranchised exists a number of intellectually, though impoverished, men and women who, finding themselves in difficult circumstances will turn to whatever means necessary to alleviate their poverty and that of their families.
Paul, (the nepotistic beneficiary "heir to his father, Ron Paul's, political involvement) didn't grow up in poverty and didn't have to "pull himself up by his bootstraps." I would be greatly surprised if he ever had to depend on welfare for his next meal, or on the "generosity of neighbors" for clothes for school. He was brought up in a secure and financially healthy background and cannot understand the trials and tribulations others, less financially blessed, much less politically connected, people may have to endure.
Rand Paul should try walking in someone else's shoes before he looks down his nose at those he would gladly see deprived of food, clothing, housing and access to medical care.
Keep in mind that medical care is of vital importance, not only to the afflicted but to the public at large.
Diseases, and transmission to others, is not governed by how rich, poor or indifferent people may be. Lacking vital access to medical care, due to lack of money, is the very definition of stupidity.
Germs, viruses, etc. don't give a hoot how "rich" one may be. They're only interested in how they can invade a population and seek out other possible victims to invade. That is how epidemics are spread and needless deaths occur.
Paul is a self-involved and dangerous politician whose tenure in the public limelight should be as short as is possible.
