Those people who are buying the song more times do not necessarily include fans of the other bands, for instance.

I get your argument.

My thinking is to expand the number of people who are enthusiastic about this project by including the fan bases of many bands with itunes songs.
It certainly appears that the Golden State song is getting the most individual hype and likely would be getting sales from the fans of the other bands
with itunes songs because of that hype.

To get Ron Paul the Christmas Number 1 on the itunes chart with the brilliant tune "Bombs (The Ron Paul Song)". We ONLY need to sell 2427 to get into the top 100 http://www.digitalsalesdata.com/diydsd.php?Region=143441

Once we are in the top 100 all we need is a screen grab of itunes top 100 posted on facebook to get people excited. Then the fun begins.

There's no doubting that once this gets momentum it will snowball. But we need absolutely EVERYBODY promoting this as hard as you can to get the word out in order for that momentum to get rolling.
