I totally disagree with this. I think people hate it and tend to vote against candidates who do this type of thing. If you want this to be effective do it for the other candidates.

All the major candidates do this. Even if the person does hang up just so long as they hear "hello blah blah blah this call is from supporters of RON PAUL." They'll at least consider Paul a big time candidate just because they got a phone call. You guys know know how it is.

This looks a great idea. As has been pointed out, if the other top candidates are doing this, that is telling. They might have policies we dislike but you can be sure Romney and Rudy will have opened their personal chequebooks to hire the best strategy advisers from the start. And this is something they advise. The more people hear about Ron Paul, the more people like him so let's push it.

The prices posted look to be very reasonable making this an excellent way to reach a high number of voters.

I like the idea a lot. Would it be possible to tally the calls that last less than 10 seconds? If so, we could have a list of all the numbers that do not want to be bothered by automatic calls.

We could then call those numbers on a person-to-person basis, not automatic.

I think we need to do anything and everything we can. What is the biggest thing we hear from people? "I've never heard about Ron Paul". I think this is a good idea.

This is a very interesting campaign.

Before I commit anything, though, I'd like to:
(1) Hear the message. Can you put it on your website, and link to it from here?

(2) See some stats on performance. Give us the nitty gritty. Perhaps some graphs showing individual time listened, and cumulative % of users that lasted a certain time, and that ultimately went through to a supporter.

This would be good if the supporter could strike whilst the iron's hot, by forwarding calls from those willing to donate, to the campaign HQ donation line, or to have someone from there call them straight back to take a donation. HQ would need to ensure that the person went straight through to someone. A hot potential donor like that shouldn't be left in a message queue.

Listen. This is a very effective way to get Ron Paul's name to the masses, and I mean 'targeted' voters in the 100,000's ! We also will enable listeners to 'press 1' and get transferred to a Ron Paul Supporter for further info.

Please consider donating as this is huge. The payoff could be massive in some early primary states that are not really focused on right now from other candidates.

Unfortunetly, this is not a visual payoff so the need might not be easily understood. But this PhoneBanking could be huge.

Lets reach 100,000's of Targeted Registered Voters for the early 2008 Primaries. We will be targeting the following states:

Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Michigan & Nevada.

Each Call will be 30-40 seconds in length and will give pertinent contact information on Ron Paul, and how to learn more about him. These calls are automated with a pre-recorded message. There will also be 2-3 issue points made, customized for maximum effectiveness for each state. Where applicable, users can have the option to speak with a Ron Paul supporter for additional information, by clicking on their phonepad and being directly transferred. So, the automated pre-recorded message tells the listener, that to learn more (in addition to 2-3 poignent issue points, depending on state), they can "Please press 1 to speak to Ron Paul grassroots supporter for additional information". At this point, the listener can request materials sent to them, or touch briefly on some points. The goal is to get 'information' to the user, NOT get in discussions on issue points or 'try to convert'.

Here is how it breaks down in terms of how your money is spent. You can see the significance of the potential impact of reaching so many targeted voters.

Remember, the motif here is 'information, information, name recognition, information'. To give out Campaign web address, phone number and to talk with a grassroots supporter (who is trained) to take the call and answer simple questions and get info to send out a 'kit/information' to the person. The goal is touch lightly on issue points if the caller wants information - the goal is to 'get information to the caller' and 'direct them to Ron Paul's campaign site, and phone numbers'.
