He's the kind of guy who will be out playing golf with Obama every weekend, shootin the shit. Talking about whether or not to invade pakistan, or if the state should push for mandatory mental health screenings.

WAKE UP!

After he consults with his lawyers.

From your website....
As a social conservative the prospect of a President Giuliani didn’t thrill me, and I still had some residual dislike of McCain and his demeanor leftover from the 2000 campaign.

Romney a social conservative?

Also, the McCain of 2000 was an actual maverick. What about him then didn't you like?

You met THE MITT and boy does he ever look interested in his supporters in that photo.

He is probably telling the other person on the line: "yeah, I'm at another damn event, sheeple everywhere I look. No I don't have juliani's bra and panties I left them in the crypt with you last night, next to the KY lube. Yeah I'll get extra for sat night."

lol. Mitt the pro-war, pro-drug war, pro-universal healthcare, anti-liberty, anti-free market, pro-higher spending & taxes, pro-surveillance state, shill. I can't believe Nate actually believes Romney would "reduce" the Federal Government. Did Romney reduce the size and scope of Massachussets? Nope. He increased it, hugely.

Political Social Cons are authoritarians. I'll pass.

hell, ill go so far as to doorknock for obama so we dont get another damn RINO in office. Atleast this way the tea party will continue to grow

Atleast this way the tea party will continue to grow

It's an excellent point.....

I'm willing to wager $1000 that when any republican gets in office the majority of the tea party will be gone within a week. Guaranteed.

It's not really about small government anymore, it's getting rid of "the socialist muslim from kenya"

yeah, that's why I'm not a "tea-partier" anymore.

Just like how the anti-war protests disappeared and only the libertarians and the paleocons were left.

If you wonder why some people are totally turned-off by Ron Paul you may not need to look any further than his supporters.

In just this thread you've been extremely rude, vulgar, belittling, and down-right hostile. If anyone doesn't have the same opinion as you guys you somehow feel the need to rip them to shreds. Good luck spreading the gospel of Ron Paul if you continue those tactics guys.

well, at least no one here banned you for no reason, which is what your mods did on romney chat. so whatever you said about RP supporters, you are worse than that.

i don't see the point of arguing further, as anyone who supports Romney, after he supported universal health care in MA, is brain damaged, probably beyond possibility of recovery.

Well that's only because Tar and Feathers have fallen out of fashion.

Here's looking forward to a huge Mitt Romney loss. Hope he spends lots of his own money on it. :p

I think any other republican and you wouldn't find so much hostility.

You picked the wrong guy to support. :p Everyone here, including myself, think he's one of the most big-government and fake politicians out there.

Though even to Romney supporters I still show respect.

Thank you for conceding that we ripped your opinions to shreds. Are you one of us now?

As I'm quite sure you witnessed, Mr. Romney was repulsively condescending during the 2008 debates. However, I don't hold that against him; the childish pandering was merely the trendy thing to do at the time, as many of the individuals on the stage joined with the performers framing the debate in the schoolyard quips and one-liners. I'm sure he may, in fact, be a respectable guy, however, ideas are more important than personalities and disingenuous sound bites.

That is where he fails, as far as I'm concerned. He fails to promote the philosophy of foreign and domestic non-interventionism; he demonstrates no understanding of the non-aggression principle; and he promotes the philosophy of collectivism. When he does promote some ideas with merit, his reasons for doing so are often misguided since the foundational principles that underly those positions are either irrational or altogether absent... flip-flops are the unfortunate result. Such unfounded position swapping is unbecoming.

Finally, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was just pandering about believing in a massive global conspiracy where an islamic caliphate will be formed for the purpose of world domination. If he honestly believes that, I'd be disappointed.

Mitt Romney has flip flopped too many times to be a serious contender in the race. He will be exposed eventually for supporting Romneycare and gun control. He may have business experience but he is just another bush.

What a sad state these debates and elections have turned into today by the hosts and candidates. Like a bunch of superficial sleazy salesman pandering to the childish public, while playing the great stage of canned talking points.

I'm most upset with the uninformed public that continues to remain willfully ignorant, following whatever the commercials or Payola Media(MSM) pushes. The American masses incapable of critical thinking or investigative research on these candidates like Romney.

Who was it that had to have the answers "Whispered" during the South Carolina GOP debate? Frankly it's not a debate anymore, it's a Populist Pageant Circus created by the Media/Political Parties/Special Interest with "Ringers Incorporated". Quite insulting to a man like Ron Paul who stands up and communicates with all and never gets into the dark world of semantics, talking points, or inside deals. A candidate that will take on all the issues and confront the problems, not playing it safe with ambiguous non committal ploys by these Silver-Tongued Devils.

Yeah, Manchurian Mitt, his conduct and record speaks for itself = pathetic.

Another Romney classic

Nice subtle dig there accusing us of being cultists (wouldn't the definition of cultist be better suited to someone devoted to a person even though they do the exact opposite of what they supposedly profess?)

Well, that out of the way, I more or less agree with the above statement. We're a bunch of policy wonks, we actually care about what candidates stand for *specifically*, so it's easy for us to be disgusted with someone like Romney and cannot really understand why anyone could support him given the reality of things.

These people aren't there, talking about Romney and supporting him, because they care about Romney's ideals. They aren't there because he's some groundbreaking new figure that'll save the country or anything, they're there for the community. For the social aspect, for the taste of being 'politically active', it's pretty much a hobby to these guys. How could it be anything but a hobby, since Romney's only differences to any other candidate is his personality?

Going over there and going down the list, pointing out why 'Romney Sucks' will get you exactly as much success as going to a Giants game and telling all the fans why their team sucks. Because Romney is just a 'team' to them, no matter what Romney does they'll never treat their political activism as anything greater than someone talking about how great the Patriots were in the off-season. It's all talk. They don't take politics seriously, they just want someone in the White House they 'like' and they hold no greater heft to the act of it.

Romneycare and the backlash against Obamacare will sink Romney and enthusiasm for him as a candidate

I actually hope he runs because we wont get his voters anyway, if he nets 15-20% then that will allow Ron Paul to win a plurality
