Open letter to the paul campaign - remarks on Florida debate

I don't agree. It's called mind control and framing. You put him in third party locker at the start of the debate, while he totally doesn't deserve it. He should call them out on it like gingrich did in the previous debate about his wife. People eat that shit up.

Exactly. He needs a good quick answer that stops them from ever answering again for fear of reprisal.

He should answer by saying that if the party pushes something/someone that he sees as bad for America it would be his DUTY as an American to put aside party politics and stand up for the people. End of discussion. Then he could even bring up the warmongering and increase of government size as contrary to conservatism.

Ron is a far better person than I will ever be. He's done more for me and for others than most ever have. I'm not going to tell him what to do. WE need to do more, Ron is only one person.

He was given an important time to draw a constrast and Santorum gave a better answer..Ron didn't even attack the others...he didn't even talk about his record....WTF??? He is not running to WIN?

Because Paul talks about what he would do right, not what others have done wrong. I prefer this approach tbh, its all to easy to get into a messy argument with other candidates denying previous positions etc anyway.

I prefer the way Paul approaches it, and it also makes him distinguishable from the other candidates instantly, by his manner. I think that is what has made alot of people sit up and take notice, leading to the support that he now has.

Dear Ron Paul:

Thank you for pointing out that our hard line policies are the real isolationism! Damned good job!!

THIS ^^^^ !!!!

Has everyone forgotten this?? We've been begging and pleading for Ron to call the rest of the GOP isolationists, and tonight it finally happened. This was probably the key moment of tonight's debate, and Ron came out quite strong on foreign policy.

Ron dropped truth bombs. He was the only one for whom the audience broke with the rule and applauded loudly!!

Nobody is telling Paul what to do. He can do whatever he wants.

We are simply offering constructive criticism. We want to win. We can't wait for 2016, we don't have the time. We are trying to make it clear to anyone who will listen that the current strategy of being the wise ol' grandpa in the room isn't going to WIN.

One thing Newt has taught us is that if you get combative with the press, you score points with the voters.

He need a strong and firm delivery. He needs to practice! I have written this before but wish someone would come up with something. What he says now is so wishy washy and does not in any way show he is the superior candidate.

Why do you keep asking me if I am going to run 3rd party? Are you afraid i am going to leave the republican party? If anything the party is leaving me. look around. I am the most conservative candiate here. Then Paul points out various conservative stances. Then say look at these guys and then one at a time name past liberal stances. Then say, why don't you ask these guys if they are going to run third party? They are true liberals running in conservative clothing.

I agree that we cannot tell Ron what to do and shouldn't, but I definitely feel that we have to change course in how we deal with the media. I'm not suggesting to come across like a whiny bitch saying "Hey! He got more speaking time then me!" but take them on directly like Newt did and just say enough is enough with the bullshit. He has deferred and said in a previous interview months ago why aren't you asking the others, but I have not seen him answer in the manner since.

Again, I'm not criticizing, I just think if we really want to win this thing, he has to take a stronger hold on the media. They are our biggest enemy, not the 3 Stooges.

Brian Williams tossed ron a beach ball when he asked if newt and mitt were conservative..what did ron do, he fking starts in with the constitution...I mean cm on....he had the perfect opportunity to obliterate his opponents and he whiifed it....Does he want to win or what?

First off realize Ron Paul won us over with this consistent message. He does not pander. Now ask yourself, how many people have you been able to convert to Paul? I look back, all my friends know I love the Dr. Paul but none of them have come into Paul's camp no matter how passionately or articulate I argue the issue. I know I am right and they have just not awaken. Debates have never been a great success for Ron Paul to win over people. He was laughed at in 2008. Any other person with thinner skin would have thrown in the towel. This is how much Ron Paul cares for us and this country. He could be living out his golden years rolling on the living room floor with his great grandchildren.

It was Ron Paul and his positions that won me over, no one person convinced me he was right. The truth he was speaking were already truths that I knew. I can speak until I am blue in the face about Ron's FP with neo-con friends. In heart they agree with me but they are unwilling to give up on their preconceived beliefs and look back at the last 10 years of their lives and tell themselves I that they were wrong about everything. It is hard for these people to believe that they were duped and that the people they have been listening to and supporting are corrupt. It is a tough pill for a lot of people to swallow.

So stop thinking that if Ron Paul somehow polished the message and became some robot reciting talking points, stop dreaming. It would not even matter to most these people as it is his message that is being attacked by the establishment. Even if Ron was as young and hansom as Romney he would still be marginalized.

As for people commenting that this is a launching ramp for Rand I say not. I am already having problems with Rand. His politician side is starting to turn me off.

Anyway, my two cents. I look forward to the caucus states. A lot of you newcomers don't realize that from here on was the most exciting time of the 08 election. This is where things get fired up and you start meeting a lot more Ron Paul supporters.

They probably think the same of you. My best line of reasoning with "police the world" types is to tell them that we do significantly more harm to other countries with an interventionist policy; while my line of reasoning with "protect america's interests" types is to show how easily America could become self-sufficient and have a stronger military if we pulled our troops back.

My point is, trying to convert people from their values is pointless. All you need is an argument that shows how Ron Paul's views agree more with their values than the status quo. Ron paul's campaign certainly has a more diverse population of believers now than it did in 2008.

This.

I also feel that he seem tired or something tonight. Noticed it with other debates too. I think he's getting to old for this.

The art of war is deception. Don't underestimate the Paulster on this. Laying in the weeds, rope-a-dope, etc. May be I'm deceived, but I feel Paul is just now getting his second wind and a strong finish in Florida will re-shock the media.

Wouldn't bet on it. The campaign isn't really bothering with it besides debates, so it's all going on grassroots for the most part. Best we can hope to do is put Santorum in last and hope he goes away.
