Open letter to Christi Gillispie!

In many ways, this will finally end the misguided statements that some have said that Rand Paul is actually a Libertarian (capital L) as now we have someone who actually is a Libertarian leave the campaign because Rand Paul isn't.

Rand has said himself that he is a Constitutional Conservative. Not someone who wants to have as little government as possible, but someone who wants to have a government that actually follows the Constitution, especially the 10th Amendment (which, although it is not as little government as possible, is certainly a lot less federal government than we have now). This is what all Republicans should be.

Even though Rand Paul is not a pure Libertarian, I am certain that he is closer to the libertarian ideals than Sonny Landham ever was. I would like to know if Gillespie supported Landham (prior to the latter announcing that we should kill all the people of Saudi Arabia, of course). I hope that Gillespie will realize that Rand Paul is the best possible person for the U.S. Senate and will support him.

Ive been posting this around the last couple of days. Christi has her opinion and I respect that... I respect building the LP brand. However the system is what it is. I wrote this blog post two weeks ago. I stick with it.

I should add that I am geniunely concerned for the campaign that Christi is not the Volunteer Coordinator any longer. I dont think that there could be a more engaging person for some new volunteer to have bringing them into the fold of the campaign. There are also going to be a lot of missed opprotunities because of not having her around. I'm not in the local area right now so I hope the people that be are ready to put more heft into what needs to be done.

I would have to say that Christi was certainly at times one of the greatest assets to the campaign. I personally know that there were many events that would not have been possible without her knowledge and experience and her presence was known around the State. She is a strong principled person and for that I believe that we should all wish her the best in all that she does.

That stated, there is always going to be some confusion with a situation like this, but what concerns me is that Jake at Page One is seemingly picking off everyone he wants in the campaign without repercussion. At the very least assuming all parties are more-or-less innocent his actions have certainly discredited Christi, Chris and David as well as the campaign that they were the face off.

I mean come on, she is already posting her e-mail address for questions here and sent out that big, unneeded statement. Seriously?

The fact that she has gone from Grayson to Paul to Libertarian shows a very unfirmly held politically belief system. She'll probably be registered with the Green party by 2011. Since one vote ain't changing anything and since it's now too late for her to vote for Grayson, I say dump her attention-seeking self from this website.

Regardless its inappropriate and immature to start smearing a senator who has nothing to do with this senate race. Mitch and Rand already met in private before and since then there hasn't been any fund raisers for Grayson. Bitching and whining about Mcconnel isn't magically going to win more votes, and is going to appear as divisive (which it would be). It would be like if Ron Paul's re-election campaign randomly started talking sh*t about Perry, its lunacy.

Plus his father Ron Paul has a policy of never mentioning his opponents by name. Even in the GOP debates, Ron Paul did not address any of his opponents specifically by name but only their policies.

I remember he made an exception for Lindsey Graham in one interview recently because it was hard not to address the situation without mentioning the senator who was causing all the problems.
