Only one at the precinct convention (maybe)

lol.....good show.....the turnout for the caucuses is pathetic.....but that runs in our favor

My precinct: 1 for Paul and 1 for Huckabee

We were the only two Republicans there. There were 6 delegate positions and 6 alternate positions. Only 2 were filled.

That means if you show up to the county/senatorial convention, your vote is for the strength of 3 delegates, and 6 if the other guy doesn't bother to show up and you represent your entire precinct.

Really...

I kind of panicked when I noticed that I was the ONLY one who showed up for my convention...

I took out the roll and started writing down names... some undoubtedly non-Paul supporters... I didn't know that since I was the only one, I'd have the vote of all of the absent delegates (7 for my precinct), I haven't submitted the packet/envelope to the Republican Party yet... should I just erase all of the names (only names and numbers... I didn't know their addresses, phone numbers, e-mails, etc.) and just submit the sheet with myself as the only delegate?

I was considering just trying to convert these people, you know, AFTER they already voted (I live at my university and I had to drive home just to participate in the convention).

Could you maybe send me some official info. that details what happens when only one person shows up?

Ron Paul wins precint conventions in west central Austin

I attended the precinct convention and only 7 people showed up. 5 Ron Paul and 2 others that I have no idea who they were representing. We were allowed 10 delegates and 5 of the 7 were Ron Paul supporters. Since we were finished so quickly I attended a neighboring convention and all 15 delegates went to Ron Paul. If it is any indication by what I experienced Ron Paul will have the majority of the precinct convention delegates and be able to dominate the party platform at the next level. I was flabbergasted at how Ron Paul dominated our precinct conventions. No contest. I am getting drunk right now celebrating the fact that we have infiltrated the Republican base and now can dominate the party platform. Do you not realize what a victory this has become?
