One good cop. (Video)

Wow, that cop is a total stud. What a great job. Now THAT is what I am talking about!

Not bad.
It would be better if it was completely unquestioned, and there was no reason to be stopped or questioned in the first place any more than wearing a hat or shoes.

If you have to have police,, then a calm, polite and reasonable one is best. Sadly they are rare.

He was walking down Oceanside with a gun on his hip and the police were called. It was a totally legit call. The cop handled it perfectly. You see a creepy guy walking down the street with gun on him... what do you do? The guy obviously wanted to be stopped as well, considering he was ready with the camera and was being as uncooperative as possible.

That is a cool ass cop.

I don't like how the guy was talking to him though. I'm all for exercising your rights but it's obvious the cop wasn't intent on hassling the guy. We don't like cops being rude to us so we should return the favor and not be rude to them, especially in a rare occasion such as that when you actually get stopped by a nice and reasonable cop.

The problem is that so many people are not conditioned to seeing mundanes with properly holstered weapons; however, many just assume that they are law enforcement. No one should ever question a person who has a properly holstered weapon. Now if it's being "gangster carried", then yeah....

Good point.

How do you know he was creepy? I didn't see him in the video, and he's a marine. For all I know he could have been a very average person. I don't know about the area where this happened, but open-carry is perfectly normal in some places. I've seen it here in Phoenix. He also said that he had the camera for protection. A lot of people do that, as I understand. It's probably not a bad idea. It could have been just a portable camera he carries just as a hobby. Pro photographers carry a camera almost all the time, in my experience.
