and how would this one child law be regulated?

I see a market for home births and midwifes that can keep thier mouths shut.

Sustenance of a population speaks directly to food and water. Presently, there ARE constraints to the number of people that the planet will sustain.

To be sure...but then we are not talking about SUSTAINING an unlimited population, we are talking about Survival of the Fittest.

The free market always finds a way. States never do.

Would solve a lot of problems and create a lot more. U.S. is at no risk of overpopulation any time soon....

Wouldn't mind (at least, not as much as a "One Child" law) seeing some type of vasectomy/hysterectomy tax incentive for those on welfare.

Well there is always an alternate option... no tax deductions beyond one child, and no welfare calculations that give more for any children beyond the first.

I'm sorry, but what's the point of having a big family?

How do you expect to take care of all of them financially and emotionally? Most parents I know can barely handle one or two.

My momma told me not to have no kids you ain't able to put through college right now if they wanted.

As for emotional support, kids need guidance, not necessarily parents (yes, a babysitter/sibling/teacher can take the role of a parent).

It's Really Quite Simple

Unlike you, I don't see human beings as a growing cancer upon the earth. Children are gifts of God, and He gave men and women the ability and capacity to have kids in a marital union. I believe one of the main points in having a big family is to carry on a legacy and heritage to a thousand generations. How glorious that is!

You take care of your children because you love them and want the best for them. Financially and emotionally, you depend on God's grace to bless you in all your familial endeavors, and He promises to meet all your needs as the sovereign God and heavenly Father.

That's all fine and dandy, except for the collective strain all of these fruitful families put on the environment. That's where humanity stops being glorious and just becomes cancer.

And if you truly didn't see human beings as cancerous, on some sort of level, you wouldn't feel the need to enslave them under theocracy.

I think it goes something like this. The Democrats keep aborting their babies, so if the Republicans have MORE babies. When they grow up and vote they beat the Dems hands down. Or something like that.

I wonder how voting in the NAU is going to work? Hmmm?

Families Usually Strengthen the Environment Through Property Ownership

"Collective strain?" How so? Don't you think the civil government might have a major part on "straining" the environment, even moreso than households? I think you're exaggerating a bit too much.

By the way, it's obvious you have no clue about the true nature of a theocracy, for it in no wise enslaves anyone, at least not in the way you're thinking. That's a subject for a whole new thread, though.

Yes, and in the case of the environmentalists, their generations will be nonexistent in a few more decades because they're having almost no kids at all. Thus, their ideology will be eradicated at a certain point, while those of us who are having more children and teaching them Biblical virtues will carry on the torch and influence the world for a very long time.

Hmm, that possible future scenario just may be a driving force behind a UN world wide "One child per family ONLY" ENFORCED policy.

Hmmm, I seem to remember a Pharoah who tried once to institute a policy of limiting the amount of children a certain nation of people could have, only to have it backfire on him by an even greater increase of children by the hand of God. It even led to ten horrible plagues placed upon that Pharoah and his kingdom in judgment of his sinfulness and affliction of God's people. ;)

Haha, I'm just wondering... will there be elections if there is one world government?
