One, Big Beautiful Bill (The Mega-Bill)

You would have a point if that crowd actually cited any positives prior to the Senate butchering it.

Sorry, I won't be taking your statement as if it was fact. I'm not going to do the research to disprove your negative, but for one, Massie was touting the suppressor legalization that was in the bill (removed by Senate).

And a whole "crowd" where no one cited any positives? The odds of that are slim enough to round to zero.

For what it's worth I consider myself to be in that crowd and I said we should pass BBB if the NFA changes stayed in.

Of course I knew it was gonna be removed by Mr Byrd but I still cited the positive(s) of the bill.

"...but you better take mine as such."

There were plenty of great things in the bill, including this. Everyone has their one or two issues in a 1,000 page bill that is their dealbreaker.

Unfortunately, Congress is worse than useless and wouldn't pass any of these good things as stand a lone bills.

Historic tax cuts, historic entitlement reforms. It doesn't cut enough to pay for the tax cuts resulting in higher estimated deficits (the estimates are wrong), but that's no different from the 2017 tax cuts that both Rand and Massie voted YES. The strategy to pursue additional cuts will continue through rescissions and additional reconciliation packages.

It doesn't rip the band-aid off but still ends them.

Thats the compromise you are supposed to make in government when you want to change something but you dont want to piss off investors that make the economy work in our country.

I can't stand it when people say the right things.

Especially when they're in a position to widely disseminate and bring more attention to the right things that they say.

Really, it's just so deplorable and tragic.

I like to consider the source. It’s the smart thing to do.

Do you remember when Bush, Trump, et all, said the “right things”, and people had hope? Big improvements, because people “heard the right things”

But, don’t let me sway you lol

Welp, it passed. Now onto a completely BS reconciliation process. Which is how they do things now. They buy a bunch of votes in one house of Congress, completely change the bill in the other house of Congress to buy enough votes to pass it. Then, the staffers come in to pick and choose what survives and gets written into the final bill that the President will sign without reading.

Just how it's supposed to work.

Bush would have gotten elected either way.

His dad was popular and the only reason his dad lost his reelection was because of Ross Perot.

The president has an entire team of people reading stuff and briefing him.

The office of the president isnt a single person.

Hey, I'm just agreeing with you.

We clearly don't want people hearing the right things, any more than we want people saying the right things.

But, you’re still going to “vote”, in the next election, for “lesser of evil”, right? You know, to keep the corporate system intact, alive and well.

Do you remember when Bush, Trump, et all, said the “right things”,

I don't remember that. I remember them saying a shitload of wrong things with a few accidental right things sprinkled in. If that's what you mean.

I certainly don't remember them claiming to be an ancap. Or even knowing what that is.

Yeah well thats been the case since probably Thomas Jefferson.

Otherwise John Adams would have won reelection.

It was Thomas Jefferson that took us to war just 2 weeks after getting elected president and after criticizing John Adams for using war powers.

Well, people either know, or they don’t. The ones who know it don’t need to hear it or be told, and the ones who don’t, there is more than likely no hope for them anyway. Other than they vote on my behalf. Which is a travesty.
