One, Big Beautiful Bill (The Mega-Bill)

If we dont cut taxes we lose the trade war we are in with the world and we won't even have a country anymore.

Yeah, the tax cuts are the "hostage" in this whole thing. It's transparent, and pathetic.

There is always a hostage negotiation when it comes to funding government otherwise there isn't consent.

The people don't want to be part of the union if it makes them slaves. They want gainful employment and medical as well as national defense.

Otherwise people would just leave the union. Thats the social contract we are in as a people.

In other countries maybe the government can just take and force people to eat their grandparents when they are hungry but we don't do that. People grow really old in our country. I have had family live to be in their hundreds.

Abraham Lincoln believed that "Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if Labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration." He also emphasized the importance of laborers being able to benefit from their work, stating, "To secure to each laborer the whole product of his labor, or as nearly as possible, is a worthy object of any good government."

Ted Cruz agrees. He was just on Hannity, talked about all of the new wonderful spending in the big beautiful bill, and finished by saying it has to pass so we can have the tax cuts.

That's how reconciliation works. Not a single Democrat will vote for tax cuts, and if they regain the majority they will use reconciliation to raise taxes and spending. So instead of torpedoing this bill, let's get the tax cuts and spending reforms we can right now!

"let's get the tax cuts and spending reforms increases we can right now!"

FTFY.

The Democrats agree. The GOP "leadership" and "moderates" agree. The MIC, AIPAC, US Chamber, and every other special interest agrees. The Uniparty agrees. Trump truly is the great uniter. Just like Biden was.

The One Big, Ugly Bill

"We're joined by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who explains why he plans to vote against the reconciliation bill as written. He artfully exposes all the gimmicks in the bill to show how there is not a single transformational policy change or meaningful cut. At the same time, there are so many new entitlements created with a strategic expiration date that will continue to perpetuate the cycle of lobbying and governance by fiscal cliff. Also, not only did lawmakers fail to repeal the Green New Deal, they actually make the solar panel industry an even greater monopoly."

Pre COVID spending? Are we just going to cancel the ICBM program that was created after COVID?

You think we can deter a war against us with 1970s era missiles in 2040?

Do you think China or Russia are going to cancel their ICBM modernization programs?

Are we going to have to surrender to China like we made Japan surrender when we had nuclear weapons and tbey didn't?

Are we going to have to pay tributes and rent to China in 2045 or will they even let us have a country when they rule the new world order?

The MIC thanks you for your service.

I wonder if Justin Amash's ancestors thought the Ottoman empire needed to cut their military and defense budgets and defense spending before they lost World War 1.

April was the best month we have had in years.

a monthly budget surplus of $258.4 billion...the first monthly surplus of fiscal year 2025 (which began in October 2024), and the second-largest monthly surplus in U.S. history, behind only April 2022’s $308.2 billion surplus.

"Best month" if you're a socialist. Normally an increase in taxes and spending would be considered a bad thing on this website.

And it's not a sustainable surplus because it's from a temporary surge in tax collection, not spending cuts.
