OHIO needs help NOW!

Guys, there is a sh&t ton of conflicting information about who can sign what petitions. WE need to get this story straight once and for all.

The info I have is that for delegate and alternate petitions, the circulator can only have people sign that live in the same COUNTY as the petition circulator. Furthermore, only registered independents and republicans can sign. NO DEMOCRATS. They are democrat if the voted previously in the democratic primaries in '04 and '06.

I get this from the State coordinator.

BradInDC, does this jibe with you?

I live in District 2 and think we have this one covered. I'm going out tomorrow to collect.

Also, Greenskin, check your PM box and email me back to coordinate on some future activities since I think you live in District 2 also. It will be difficult around here but I want to rEVOLutionize district 2.

Here's the info being put out by the campaign on who can sign petitions: http://www.ohio4ronpaul.com/faq.php#whocansign

And Bump

bump - keep on page 1

seems like we got the signatures under control though

all the petitions we have completed are now posted to the web site. we are missing alternate delegate petitions for 5 districts still however. that is actively being worked on to resolve.

we hope to have 2 new features on the site by tomorrow
- voter information query tool
- district captains with district status info

Should I print each page of the petition on its own piece of paper? or should I put them on front and back?

ive been talking to alot of ohio'ians tonite... i feel very very good about this state... didnt raelize how much support Dr. Paul has mainly because Ive been so darn busy with work, I havent had time to really "go out"

ill still be getting signatures for either district 5 or district 9... if other districts need help, Im willing to drive to any city in the state and help out... i dont care if its a 6 hour drive... so be it

Good to understand, if this is still true, that candidates get on the ballot by CD in Ohio, not all or nothing statewide.

I'm with you... aside from our meetup I really had no idea. We spontaneously put together a voter registration drive/petition drive for this Sunday at the local Wal-Mart. Democrats are signing up voters, Republicans/Independents are circulating petitions. The response when looking for help was amazing. I'm feeling pretty confident about the buckeye state!

Ohio has (had?) specific laws about the size and thickness of the paper, etc.

I don't know about that, but the petitions are formatted in legal size paper on the pdf.'s
Wait a minute... was that a statement or a question? Man it's getting late :)

there was a crisis in VA that the volunteers had to rush to undo his mistakes on the day of the filing deadline AND in DC the delegates got letters we're in violation of the law since HQ can't get their forms straight (and who knows what else from everywhere else).

+1 . I got 200 petitions signed in VA, but because of him clarifying something wrong they were all invalid. Sometimes I wonder if they actually want to win this thing.

Ohio, you are doing great! Hang in there.
