Need minimums of 50 signatures/max of 150 on each by the 27th to get them in by Jan 4th if I understand correctly.

How many signatures do we need?

For EACH petition: (Delegate AND Alternate petitions)...
At-large (Form 2-O): signatures of at least 1,000, but not more than 3,000, qualified electors (volunteers/signatures).
District (Form 2-Q): signatures of at least 50 (each), but not more than 150, qualified electors (volunteers/signatures).
SO: We need 50 in each District, and at least 1,000 overall.

. Thank you to those who were given very little time for working so hard on this.

We are doing a good job getting petitions signed across the state. There are some trouble spots but those issues I believe will be resolved. A few last things we need to do before this is over.

1 - validate signatures
2 - deliver the petitions

1 - Everyone who circulates a petition please validate they signed in the correct district and are not a democrat using our voter query tool on www.ohio4ronpaul.com. We may need some people to work with Doug in Reynoldsburg to do some validation over the few days too.

2 - WE WILL NEED DEDICATED DRIVERS to deliver petitions. You can get paid for this, I think 45 cents per mile. Here is the proposed plan

- on Jan 1 we need people in each district to pick up any petitions that have not been mailed to Doug in Reynoldsburgh.
- On Jan 2 the driver needs to pick up any petitions at Doug's house in Reynoldsburg for their district. This is probably also a good time to do some validation.
- No later than the morning of Jan 3 all the petitions collected should be filed with the LOCAL county board of elections in your district. This gives us 24 hrs to correct some mistakes because the true deadline is Jan 4. The locations of the local CBE will be posted soon.

We should probably have some standby drivers too.

We need people to commit to doing this now. This is it, this is the final stretch, we need to do this and do it well, then we will have Dr. Paul on the ballot. Please contact [email protected] if you can help or if you can get someone who is willing to help. We need to cover all districts.

thanks, Joe

Woah! MUCH better to work from walking lists of registered voters and see who voted in the last Republican primaries. General population signatures--even when they say they're registered and voted Republican--are a notoriously low percentage of good sigs. If so, do what you can to "pre-certify" the sigs with the board of elections and ethics so you know which petitions to turn in. Please, please, please, trust me on this one. It's just a little bit more work but can make the difference between getting on the ballot or not.

Here in Illinois, we found we had pretty good luck at the library. Because we're open primary, we don't need to verify party affiliation. And one bad sig didn't nullify the entire sheet either.

But we did have to have voters by district, and libraries seemed to work well for that. Best to catch folks on the way out though, and not on the way in. First, people on the way out have generally finished their errand and aren't preoccupied, and if you annoy them (if for nothing else than being a Republican - it happens!) they're not likely to turn around and go back to complain to the desk staff about your presence. They just mumble out to the car.

district 9 will be good - you got my word on that

i dont understand the delivery stuff... i have no problems driving down to the 614 to drop off petitions...
