It's weird. At work, the Trump supporters I know are completely outside of politics really. Trump is a true populist. People that actually read/follow politics support someone else or no one for the most part.

So it makes sense that your political sarcasm is lost. Many who support him just don't understand the political environment that Trump is in. Much less the sarcasm.

I tear down my dad's defenses every time I debate him. Eventually he falls back on "we can't do nothing" or "we have to fight them there" arguments. I tear down every defense until I get to that point and then I stop because there is absolutely no changing his mind. Then he's angry for awhile because I tell him I'm not gonna vote for an unapologetic Fascist for president.
