OFFICIAL Virginia Gubernatorial Election RESULTS THREAD

Wow. What a revelation! That is exactly why some of us called THIS race importent. It was about the neocon wing versus the teaparty wing. Well the neocons won thanks to a lot of help from What I thought were anti neocon people.

And some of the ones doing the critcizing before last night are the ones now getting it? :(

Wish I had found this last night:

'It sounds to me like the GOP limiting support may have been as much to blame as the Dems funneling money through that PAC. And it sounds like it was establishment smacking the hands of the Tea Party once again.
No, the establishment just strung Cuccinelli along, like they were really supporting him, NOT! It would be way too obvious fraud, if the RNC/GOP and their 'Money Master Bundlers', who normally fund pre-approved establishment puppets, if they didn't give anything to Cuccinelli. Yeah, the whole system is rigged in politics and that's why the parties spend $10s of millions(from their masters) to insert 'Their Ringer' aka candidate and keep them in office, as long as they do and vote what they're told if they want more money to keep them in the 'Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous'.

When the establishment GOP party stops funding a candidate in the last 4 1/2 weeks, the most critical time of an election, that means the money masters don't approve/never approved. It's so obvious to many of us who remain diligent and watch these parties, media, and money like a hawk. Even Chris Christie refused to campaign for Cuccinell, which should send a red flag alert about what's going on.

What has been proved in the past, Cuccinelli has stated on public airwaves YEARS BEFORE running for governor, he was libertarian. The establishment will never allow a Libertarian in an office of power, ever. Ron was in the GOP and the establishment did everything possible to sabotaged his campaigns, legislation, public appearances, and debates.

Yeah, Right...

Missed major opportunity, Cooch is probably the best Constitutionalist with Libertarianism of a candidate you'll find that had a chance of opening the door ANY TEA PARTY governorship positions in the future, period, ever. He could of installed truthful politicians/workers, and exposed the fraud for the entire rigged Marxist system. That is lost forever. Sarvis doesn't have jack shit of a past or proof of a believable candidate and this purity philosophy of "all or none" is absolutely absurd and will accomplish nothing, absolutely nothing. Spin your wheels to nowhere office, because that's the only resultant. Sarvis could of worked a deal with both in office... now neither is, ans never will.

Here's proof and watch it all... you never find another potential governor in this country with so much pro Libertarian-Constitutionalism policies like Cuccinelli, ever, period

I totally agree with this..... But I also think we need to look at the voting blocks too. In Virginia, there is the largest block of federal workers. They are not going to vote for someone who supports limited government as it does not help their job security.
I watched twitter like a hawk yesterday, just to try to learn what people were thinking as they were voting. The thing that I found is that people were more concerned about the liberty of their sexual organs than their second amendment rights. People were more concerned about the fact that he did not support sodomy than the possibility of ending the war on coal. People were more concerned with his anti abortion views than higher taxes or the horrors of Obamacare. They had no concern for the corruption that oozes from Fast Terry, it was more directed towards transvaginal ultrasounds. I didn't see hardly any mention of people being concerned with their civil liberties or the spying of the NSA, that I would have thought might have been somewhat important to liberals. However, they were simply concerned with lifestyle issues and that is IT. This..... is honestly why I think Cuccinelli lost the election. Liberals abhor people who don't stand in unison with their lifestyle choices. It doesn't matter if you are not a threat to their lifestyle.... even simple disagreement with it is enough to label you as "enemy". Cuccinelli was the enemy because of these things and what I saw was that liberals had no interest in looking at any of his other positions ..... period.

I want to respectfully dissent, I think its more about rhetoric and trying to get support. George Bush ran on a humble foreign policy in 2000, by all means he was probably 50% libertarian with that belief, and how did that work?

Howard Buffett is quoted saying

Even if it were desirable, America is not strong enough to police the world by military force. If that attempt is made, the blessings of liberty will be replaced by coercion and tyranny at home. Our Christian ideals cannot be exported to other lands by dollars and guns. Persuasion and example are the methods taught by the Carpenter of Nazareth, and if we believe in Christianity we should try to advance our ideals by his methods. We cannot practice might and force abroad and retain freedom at home. We cannot talk world cooperation and practice power politics

So when it comes to how libertarian someone is, if they support wars of aggression they will eventually support a police state at home. I think what he said holds a lot of value and truth.

This isnt to demean people like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul or Marco Rubio but shouldn't history be our greatest evidence?

You really think Rand or Cruz would support a police state in the US? That is pretty far out there ....

What history do you point to as "evidence"? Because this is going to be a tough sell that the guy who filibustered the Senate on domestic drone strikes is going to support a domestic police state. Or the guy who is the son of a Communist refugee will support a police state.

OTOH, ant war types like Kucinich gladly support a police state to make the "rich" pay for their socialist crap.

Yes, 7 of the top 10 wealthiest per capita counties are the DC metro areas(northern VA). All those Federally employed counties/cities in northern Virginia voted by a landslide for Terry McAuliffe. Shocking the medium annual salary for those northern VA counties are $100K and UP! It's amazing when you look at who voted for McAuliffe... it was the Highest wage benefits .Gov workers with the lowest unemployment rates and the lowest wage welfare-subsidized poorest with the highest unemployment rates. buying both ends and the middle classes pay for it all.

The single common factor: Government (it buys the upper-wealthier classes with 'Federal related Jobs' and it controls the lower poor classes with 'Crumbs') Just read US senator Patrick Leahy's Immigration amendment, which inserts $1/2 Billion to pay for DHS government workers educational loan debt.(NOTE authoritarian agencies/government workers) It's being excused as a "Recruitment Tool" for hiring. Can you believe that bull with millions of Americans unemployed?

This is exactly how the system manifests upon itself... but what else is left? Going John Galt?

All I know if I was a campaign manager... I'd know exactly how to counter the crap... CIA has been using it for decades... Disinformation-Misinformation operations, propaganda, covert ops... politics is a filthy nasty operation.

Ron Paul endorsed/campaigned for the Republican and called 'Libertarian' Robert Sarvis voters Insane.

Conclusions, cajuncocoa?

My conclusion would be that the Paul's backed a lame horse in a tightly contested race and did a bad job of courting LP voters that possibly could have determined the outcome. By doing this they have weakened their position ( as king-makers) and that of the TeaParty and further more emboldened the GOP establishment against the (l)ibertarian conservatives.

The Republican lost by 2%, very close race. The libertarians threw a monkey wretch on idea of Ron Paul being a "king maker." The Libertarian should have backed Ron Paul's decision to advance the cause of liberty.

Perhaps calling LP voters "insane" for backing their candidate didn't exactly endear them to "the cause." The LP owes the TeaParty nothing. In politics you don't get something for nothing. I thought you were politically astute?

I support Ron Paul and I feel Ron Paul is advancing the cause of liberty. I still view Ron Paul as the leader of this movement. Am I wrong to think that?
