OFFICIAL Virginia Gubernatorial Election RESULTS THREAD

Do you really think McAuliffe could make up another whole 5% or more? I'm honestly curious, not confrontational, because I don't know a whole lot about VA demographics and politics.

Yes. Farifax County is enormous (1.2m people) and it goes +20 D. It is the "New York City" to Virginia as a state - heavily populated and politically dominant by sheer numbers. The rest of the state has to go heavily GOP for the party to overcome that, just as in NY. You wouldn't know it from the outside, but outside of NYC/Long Island, New York State is very conservative, enough so that it has had a significant independent Conservative Party for a long time.

Here we go. If the professional voters show up en masse those northern counties, McAuliffe has this.

76% reporting per Drudge
CUCCINELLI 47.8%
MCAULIFFE 45.3%

breitbart: UPDATE (8:50pm EST) From the very astute Sean Trende at RealClearPolitics:

Danville is 100% in and TMac only won by 5 points. Holy Shit.

Trende's election model is predicting a Cuccinelli victory. Your mileage may vary, but I wouldn't discount Trende's analysis. (Also, you should follow him.)

Sarvis is actually doing about twice as well as I expected. Probably because he's not actually particularly libertarian lol.
Yes I'm surprised too... Cooch campaign made the mistake of not bring in RP earlier and investigating Sarvis' campaign cash... the grassroots could of been activated to call Sarvis a phony and intentional Democratic ploy of bleeding votes.

This Sarvis thingy needs further investigation...

More Yikes...

Arlington AND Alexandria counties McAuliffe takes 72%!!!

Seriously, if Ken wins, I'm going to attribute it entirely to Ron coming out to campaign for him.

Why didn't Nate Silver model this race?

Same here.

Did any other GOP operative campaign for him? Did they bring in Paul Ryan, Chris Christie or Mott Romney to seal the deal?

Nope.

So if the establishment wrote off this race and Cuccinelli pulls it off, I will proudly boast Ron Paul has swag...

Sarvis is pulling votes from McAuliffe in the urban counties. WOW!
