OFFICIAL Virginia Gubernatorial Election RESULTS THREAD

No way do the 'rats pull this out by 50%+. It's a beautiful thing that 50-55% of voters are voting right, whether Libertarian or GOP.

This may turn out to be the most Losertarian moment in Losertarian history to date.

It's probably not going to end up making a difference. McAuliffe may pull a straight-out majority, so no addition of Libertarian voters would have helped the GOP here.

Getting a good vibe from all this. I just want to see Ken win so Obama and the Dems will have egg on their faces. Would also be an early indication that people are starting to see their premiums spike up, and they are PISSED.

McAuliffe is pretty loathsome too, even by Democrat standards. Many people don't know he tried to bribe Ralph Nader to drop out of the Presidential election in 2004, and then filed multiple lawsuits trying to kick him off the ballot. Whatever one thinks of Nader, that's pretty anti-democratic for a (D).

Not to mention Bloomberg and the media. MSNBC is terrible in their coverage as well. They keep saying McAuliffe is "winning" even though he's behind in raw votes. Completely disingenuous.

Do you really think McAuliffe could make up another whole 5% or more? I'm honestly curious, not confrontational, because I don't know a whole lot about VA demographics and politics.

Sarvis is actually doing about twice as well as I expected. Probably because he's not actually particularly libertarian lol.

Libertarian Party = the big-government Democrats' best friends.

Ron Paul ran as a Libertarian in 1988 and he is no friend of Democrats! This is one election where the Libertarian guy isn't really Libertarian and with Ron Paul endorsing Ken, that it is OK to go for the Republican over the Libertarian here. That doesn't mean the next election that people shouldn't vote for a Libertarian, just this one.

im predicting cooch wins by 1-2%

Unfortunately, you may be right.

Although I hope you turn out to be wrong

Yeah, he is getting a lot of the voters that really don't like either of the establishment ones and want to make a protest vote. If Ron Paul hadn't of endorsed Ken just think how much higher his percentage would be, at least 14% I think.

Fairfax Co. has been updating some more and McA's lead is staying around the same 19k vote margin as it's been the whole time. McA needs that margin to increase, not stay static.

Cautious optimism.

eta: scratch that. Margin in FFX just jumped to 25k. Translates to 5k vote jump for every 10% reported. FFX is at 45% on Politico so that translates to about 30k more votes for McA through rest of FFX reporting.

Yes. The 5 blue counties you see in the northern tip of VA are that heavily populated.

Democrats love that the Libertarians split the vote. Libertarians act clueless that they're being used as a tool.
